A childhood interest in mathematics at Masitise High School has grown into one of Lesotho’s emerging technology companies, as Malefane Sello channels over a decade of private sector experience into building local digital capacity.
Born and raised in Motse-Mocha, Masitise, Quthing, Sello attended Villa-Maria Primary School and Masitise High School. It was at Masitise High where he developed a strong interest in mathematics and science, subjects that he says ultimately shaped his career path.
While in Form E, he wrote a test in a National Mathematics Contest and obtained 3rd Best Candidate nationwide. During that time he also took typing as an additional subject, which he now credits as one of the foundational skills that introduced him to computers and technology.

We out competed Moorosi high school in number of subject categories and our internal students were awarded certificates and stationary. It was a tough writing competition. .
