‘A living legend’: ‘Skeem Saam’ fans applaud Alfred for his blind storyline

Seasoned actor Putla Sehlapelo who’s been playing the character of Meneer Alfred Magongwa in Skeem Saam for nearly a decade continues to blow the minds of viewers this season with his blind storyline.

Magongwa lost his eyesight last month after Paxton Kgomo (Thabiso Molokomme) and the learners at Turfloop accidentally poured the dye into his eyes which caused his temporary blindness.


Actor Putla Sehlapelo has received praises from Skeem Saam viewers and has been in the spotlight recently after his character Alfred Magongwa became blind.

Alfred has been a fan-favourite character since becoming the deputy principal at Turfloop High as fans love it when he bickers with Principal Thobakgale (Elizabeth Serunye) in their office.

Sehlapelo gave the performance of his life this season when he got admitted to the hospital after a bucket of dye that was meant for Thobakgale fell on him and caused his temporary blindness.

Fans pity him, wish him a speedy recovery, and think he deserves a SAFTA as he’s convincing in his role.
