💡 On 26th December 2025, Maseru’s economy spoke — and Nkhekhe was listening.
We deployed POS systems at LETZ touch_your SOUL event, capturing real-time transaction activity — the heartbeat of the city’s weekend economy. From this, we built the Maseru Weekend Economic Pulse (MWEP), a high-frequency indicator that turns transactions into actionable insights.
What we’re seeing:
The informal and event economy has clear patterns and rhythms
Cash and digital payments coexist dynamically, revealing how money truly moves
Weekend demand surges reflect behavior, sentiment, and hidden opportunities
The bigger picture is even more exciting: as MWEP grows and more data streams are captured, we will be able to model Lesotho’s economy in ways never done before — enabling smarter policy, better investment, and inclusive growth.
