Meet Kholo Farms, proudly inspired and sponsored by Bothata Mahlala, the Patron of the Bothata Mahlala Development Foundation and leader of the Basotho Development Front (BDF).
Today, Ntate Bothata Mahlala, as Patron of the Bothata Mahlala Development Foundation and leader of the Basotho Development Front (BDF), has made a significant contribution in his quest to change the lives of Basotho, especially the youth.
He has encouraged the youth to come together and form sustainable partnerships in their day-to-day entrepreneurial activities, where he encourages them to be investors and producers of what they consume. Ntate Mahlala, through his people-centered leadership initiatives, has brought together a cohort of young small-scale vendors in Teya-Teyaneng (TY) to boost their businesses. These young people operate various street vendor initiatives where they promote one another’s businesses daily. His contribution today marks the beginning of a new Business Society Group in TY, where they are going to buy their stock, shelter, and storage. This is a big move on their part, as they say. Conversely, they have also been inspired to open a Mokhatlo account where they will contribute a reasonable fraction of their proceeds daily in an effort to help other vendors join them in this growth journey. Kholo Farms aims to attract more youth vendors under this initiative and see the same process spread into other districts countrywide. This is the change inspired by Ntate Mahlala — bringing hope back into the lives of Basotho and the youth.
