rip old me.

Memories are all that’s left to replace this silence.
The kind of loss that can never be found again,
the kind of pain that never truly heals,
because nothing can replace the emptiness
where my feelings for you once lived.
If a genie truly existed,
my first wish would be to turn back the hands of time.
Not even to be with you,
but to undo some mistakes
and maybe wait a little longer for you.
Maybe then,
even if we still ended,
it would have been on mutual grounds,
with no unanswered what-ifs left between us.
And if I still had wishes left,
I would stay in those moments
when we were just kids,
before responsibilities became walls between us.
I see you smile these days,
but not the way you used to.
You carry too much weight,
and I see through it —
the pain hidden behind the eyes of a clown.
In another life,
I would be your encore and you would be mine,
the yin to my yang.
I never imagined this would become us.
Back then,
the only future I could see
was one with you in it.

A Sonnet for the Woman Who Stayed Too Long
I walked beside you, yet I walked alone,
My heart outstretched, unanswered in the dark,
Each hope I gave returned to me as stone,
Each promise faded, leaving only mark.
I bent and broke to fit the shape you made,
Until my soul grew weary, thin, and small,
And still your love remained a debt unpaid,
A distant echo down an empty hall.
I spoke my truth — you met it with your silence,
A colder wound than anger ever brings,
And in that hush I felt my final reliance
Slip free from all imagined hopeful things.
So now I choose myself, though torn apart —
For I must save what’s left of my own heart.

In Quiet Ways
Some connections
do not arrive loudly.
They come in gentle ways —
in pauses,
in laughter,
in the comfort of being understood
without needing to explain.
They grow in shared moments,
in honest conversations,
in the simple safety
of being seen
just as you are.
And sometimes,
a heart notices
before the mind is ready to name it.
So it stays quiet.
It observes.
It feels.
It holds the moment gently,
afraid that words might
break what silence is building.
Not every feeling asks to be spoken.
Some only ask to be honored.
To exist.
To breathe.
To be real —
without pressure,
without demand,
without expectation.
And if meaning ever lingers
between the lines,
let it be soft.
Let it be kind.
Let it be patient.
Because the most beautiful things
often unfold
when they are not forced.
Your Heart is Enough
Even in quiet rooms
where longing whispers,
even when love feels far,
your heart is still whole.
You have felt deeply,
cared gently,
seen more than most notice,
and that is strength,
not weakness.
It is safe to protect yourself.
It is wise to pause.
But it is never true
that love is beyond you.
Your heart can breathe,
even in restraint.
Your soul can shine,
even in waiting.
You are worthy —
not because someone notices,
not because anyone chooses you,
but because you exist.
And that is enough.
Hold this truth close:
You are capable of love,
and you are capable of being loved,
even if the world hasn’t shown it yet.
