ANOTHER BANKING MELTDOWN! THIS TIME IT’S LESOTHO POSTBANK!
Just a month after the Standard Lesotho Bank disaster, now Lesotho PostBank is failing us too — and at a critical time — the Easter holidays!
Here’s what’s happening NOW:
🚫 No swiping — clients can't use their cards
🚫 Internet Banking down
🚫 Cellphone Banking inaccessible
🚫 ATMs not working for many customers
🚫 People stranded without access to their money
It’s Easter weekend — people are traveling, shopping, spending time with family, and guess what? They can’t access their own money. This is beyond frustrating — it's financial neglect!
And where is the Central Bank of Lesotho in all this?
SLEEPING ON THE JOB.
Two major banks collapse within weeks of each other, and there’s still no enforcement, no improvement, no action.
If the regulator can’t regulate, then what’s the point?
Lesotho deserves better. We need accountability. We need banking systems that work. We need a Central Bank that enforces infrastructure that actually serves the people.

🤣🤣🤣 every trader can relate to this
Lesotho’s Economy in Trouble?
The U.S. has imposed a 50% tariff on Lesotho because it has been charging 99% tariffs on American goods. What does this mean for Lesotho’s economy? It’s going to take a big hit.
Lesotho’s economy relies heavily on exports to the U.S., especially textiles. With such high tariffs, U.S. businesses may start sourcing from other countries, leading to:
❌ Declining exports
❌ Factory closures
❌ Job losses
❌ Economic slowdown
Lesotho isn’t alone—Saint Pierre and Miquelon and Cambodia are also facing the same tariffs for similar trade practices. If these countries want to avoid an economic crisis, they need to drop their unfair tariffs on U.S. goods and negotiate better trade terms.

‼️ TOTAL BANKING FAILURE! Standard Lesotho Bank MESSES UP BIG TIME! ‼️
It's month-end AND a weekend—a critical time when salaries are paid, businesses settle accounts, and people need to access their money the most. Yet, Standard Lesotho Bank , which holds about 60% of the country's banking market, has completely FAILED its customers!
ALL major services are down:
🚫 ATMs
🚫 Cash deposit machines
🚫 POS transactions
🚫 Bank cards
🚫 Airtime & electricity purchases, DSTV payments & more
This catastrophic failure means:
⚠️ Workers can't access their salaries
⚠️ Businesses can't process transactions—leading to lost revenue and unpaid suppliers
⚠️ No card swipes, no withdrawals, no deposits!
⚠️ People stranded without cash for essentials
⚠️ Economy at a standstill because money can't move!
How does a major bank fail on such a critical weekend? Where is the Central Bank of Lesotho the regulator responsible for overseeing financial institutions and ensuring the stability of our banking system? This is a complete failure of oversight and accountability.
The Central Bank of Lesotho 's mandate includes promoting the efficient operation of the payments system and ensuring financial stability—yet here we are, with thousands of people stranded!
This is unacceptable! Lesotho deserves better banking reliability and stronger regulatory oversight to prevent such disasters.
