Through the panel discussion, MESTECH engaged with UNDP Lesotho, the Ministry of Education and Training - Lesotho, Limkokwing University, Lesotho and Vodacom Lesotho. One thing is abundantly clear: meaningful progress in STEM cannot be driven by one institution alone.

Each sector has a unique role to play. Government shapes policy and creates an enabling environment. Educational institutions equip young people with knowledge and skills. Development partners invest in programmes that expand opportunity and inclusion. The private sector provides practical application, mentorship, innovation and pathways into employment and entrepreneurship.

When these efforts complement one another rather than operate in silos, we create an ecosystem where young people are not only inspired to pursue STEM but are also empowered to use it to solve real challenges, create businesses and contribute to Lesotho’s development.
