As students of Malo Wisdom Academy Eco Club in Montserrado County organized a clean-up campaign and mobilized their peers to protect the environment to commemorate ,

This inspiring initiative highlights the impact of our , funded by Actionaid Liberia years ago, which has empowered over 50 schools and 10,000 students across Montserrado, B**g, and Gbarpolu Counties to become environmental champions with over half of the impact being led by young women and girls.

Youth Go Green Network-Liberia (YUGNet-Liberia) proudly congratulates the newly announced Executive Team of the African Youth Initiative on Climate Change (AYICC) for the 2026–2028 term.

Today, we celebrate more than an appointment—we celebrate a journey of purpose, resilience, and impact.

We are especially proud of our fellow Liberian, Mr. Ezekiel Nyanfor, whose passion for climate justice, unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability, and courage to lead have elevated Liberia onto the continental and global climate stage. His achievement is a powerful reminder that young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow—they are shaping the future today.

This milestone represents years of dedication, advocacy, and service to communities vulnerable to climate change. It reflects the growing influence of Liberian youth in driving meaningful conversations and solutions across Africa and beyond.

As Yugnet Liberia , we are inspired by this achievement and excited about the opportunities ahead. YUGNet-Liberia Commits to Promoting Climate Inclusivity, Environmental Governance, Youth Empowerment, and Community-Centered Solutions for a Sustainable Liberia.

Today, Yugnet Liberia participated in the National Validation Workshop of Liberia’s Climate Change Learning Strategy organized by the Environmental Protection Agency - EPA in collaboration with UNITAR/UN held at the Cape Hotel in Monrovia.

Representing the institution at the engagement, Ms. Frances B. K. Tarpeh , our Head for Administration and Finance, emphasized the Institution's urgent need for climate inclusivity and increased mobilization of resources for grassroots institutions to advance sustainable development, innovation, and community resilience across Liberia.

The engagement brought together key stakeholders, environmental actors, and development partners to validate a nationally owned and results-oriented strategy aimed at strengthening climate education, awareness, and inclusive participation across Liberia.

She highlighted the importance of ensuring that climate learning reaches grassroots communities, young people, women, and vulnerable populations who are directly affected by climate change impacts.

Ms. Frances further called for stronger collaboration, increased investment in climate education, and sustained support for grassroots climate action initiatives that empower local communities to become active drivers of environmental sustainability and resilience.

Meet Stephen DN Johns, a seasoned Construction Engineer and Contractor with over 10 years of experience in the construction industry.

Throughout his career, Stephen has worked with individual clients and currently serves with City Construction Company, where he continues to contribute to infrastructure development and professional excellence.

Leadership has not always been easy, but through dedication, resilience, and strategic planning, he has successfully managed teams of at least 20 men while maintaining strong working relationships with coworkers and partners.

As an emerging leader and aspiring CEO of Johns LEGACY Group of Companies, Stephen believes that effective project management, teamwork, and continuous learning are essential ingredients for success. He remains open to learning from every experience, including mistakes, as part of his growth journey.

Stephen Johns is a visionary leader committed to serving Liberia through infrastructure development while inspiring and leading young people by example through impactful leadership.

ELI Summit 5.1 Confirmed Delegate Spotlight

Meet Miss Cherish Tina Davis, a passionate young leader committed to community engagement, youth empowerment, and sustainable impact in Liberia.

Cherish is a graduate of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, where she studied International Trade and Economics, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree. She also holds a Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation, further strengthening her professional and leadership capacity.

Currently, Cherish serves as the Community Engagement Officer at Zero Plastic Liberia, a non-governmental organization dedicated to environmental sustainability and community action.

Recently, she participated in the Thinkers Youth Summit Model United Nations, where she successfully obtained a certificate in recognition of her participation and engagement.

As a young leader, Cherish is deeply passionate about strengthening her leadership abilities, expanding her network, and creating meaningful impact among young people within her community and across Liberia.

Meet Mulbah Zawu, Jr., an emerging leader, educator, entrepreneur, and passionate advocate for youth empowerment and innovation in Liberia.

Mulbah is currently a student at Mertu Institute of Health and Laboratory Sciences, where he is studying Laboratory Science. He is also a graduate of the University of Liberia, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science.

Demonstrating his commitment to education and academic excellence, Mulbah serves as a Laboratory Demonstrator at the University of Liberia. Beyond academia, he is also an entrepreneur and the owner of a registered business known as “Good Never Lost.”

Driven by his passion for education, entrepreneurship, and leadership, Mulbah was inspired to participate in the Emerging Leaders Impact Summit (ELI Summit 5.1) to further empower and educate young people through innovation and technology within his community and Liberia at large.

As a confirmed delegate, Mulbah looks forward to gaining deeper knowledge in leadership, technology, and innovation while networking with fellow delegates and industry experts. He also hopes the summit will help strengthen his professional and career aspirations, enabling him to create meaningful impact and inspire others.

ELI Summit 5.1 Confirmed Delegate Spotlight

Meet Samuelta V. Coleman, a passionate young leader, student, and aspiring professional dedicated to growth, education, and making a meaningful impact in society.

Born on October 6, 2006, in ELWA, Paynesville, Liberia, Samuelta spent her childhood in ELWA where she was raised and began her educational journey. She attended Mother Victoria F. Saah Christian Academy from nursery through junior high school, a foundation that helped shape her discipline, character, and passion for learning.

She later continued her secondary education at John Lewis Morris Methodist School, where she successfully completed high school.

Following her secondary education, Samuelta was blessed with the opportunity to travel to the United States of America, where she toured 23 states over the course of one year. This experience exposed her to diverse cultures, environments, and perspectives, contributing significantly to her personal growth and worldview.

Upon returning to Liberia, she remained committed to advancing her education and personal development. Samuelta is currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice at the Adventist University of West Africa, where she has successfully completed her freshman year.

Samuelta believes that every stage of her journey — through education, travel, and life experiences — has contributed to the person she is becoming today. She continues to learn, grow, and prepare herself to positively impact her community and society.

YUGNet-Liberia Advances Women’s Political Leadership at the National Networking and Experience-Sharing Forum for Women Political Aspirants in Paynesville City

On May 27, 2026, Yugnet Liberia joined several civil society organizations and key stakeholders in participating in the National Networking and Experience-Sharing Forum for Women Political Aspirants. The forum was organized by Sister Aid Liberia in collaboration with UN Women under the Liberia Electoral Support Project.

The forum served as a strategic platform for women aspirants, experienced leaders, civil society actors, and electoral stakeholders to reflect on lessons learned from the 2023 elections while promoting stronger collaboration and increased women’s participation in Liberia’s democratic and political processes ahead of 2029.

Representing YUGNet-Liberia at the event was our Montserrado County Coordinator, Juteh Brown.

At YUGNet-Liberia, we believe that women’s political leadership flourishes through mentorship, dialogue, partnership, and inclusive engagement. Supporting women’s participation in governance today is essential to building a stronger, more democratic, and inclusive Liberia for future generations.
