Tomorrow, Saturday, September 19, 2026, four of our young people from Bomi County will leave Liberia with me for Accra, Ghana, where they will have the opportunity to witness the 2nd Extraordinary Session of the ECOWAS Parliament. For them, it will be a week of learning, observation, exposure, and an opportunity to see regional leadership and parliamentary diplomacy up close.

Over the years, more than 50 people, mainly from Bomi County, have traveled with us across the region for ECOWAS-related activities, including election observation missions, parliamentary oversight, women’s empowerment, parliamentary diplomacy, and fact-finding missions.

I have always believed in the power of exposure. Sometimes, seeing something beyond your immediate surroundings can broaden your thinking, build confidence, inspire new ambitions, and open your mind to possibilities you may never have imagined.

The young people of Bomi County are precious to me. Their education, growth, development, and future will always deserve our attention. We may not be able to address every challenge at once, but whenever we have an opportunity to help someone learn, grow, gain meaningful exposure, or see beyond their present circumstances, we should.

Traveling with us tomorrow are:

1. Ms. Roseline Zinnah — Free Pentecostal Global Mission School, Tubmanburg
2. Mr. Victor Varney (Zinc Bucket) — Motorcyclist
3. Mr. Daniel Coleman — Youth Activist, Klay District
4. Ms. Anita Oliver — Suehn Mecca High School, Suehn Mecca District

My hope is that they return home from Ghana with more than memories of a trip. I hope they return with new ideas, renewed focus, greater confidence, and a stronger sense of what they can become and what they can contribute to their communities, Bomi County, and Liberia.

Every opportunity we give a young person today is an investment in the future of our country.

This evening, I hosted the Chairman of the National Patriotic Party (NPP), Atty. Sylvester George Mulbah; his Vice Chair, Mr. Mark Keshen (Fox); and other members of the Executive Committee, alongside representatives of the concerned partisans of the NPP led by Mr. Emmanuel Goll, Mr. Doada Metzger and Ms. Amanda Gannett at my residence.

Our discussions were frank, cordial, and conducted in an atmosphere of mutual respect. I am optimistic that, within the next few days, we will be able to resolve the current stalemate that led to the suspension of some partisans and move forward together as one united NPP.

I extend my sincere appreciation to Chairman Mulbah, Vice Chair Keshen, and the other members of the Executive Committee for attending and engaging constructively in the discussions. I am equally grateful to our Chairman Emeritus, Sen. James P. Biney, for his valuable contributions and wise counsel throughout the process.

Our focus remains on dialogue, reconciliation, and unity. We will continue to engage one another in good faith and work toward a peaceful and speedy resolution of the outstanding issues, always placing the unity and stability of our party first.

I just read a stanza from the Bhagavad Gita and thought to share; “In battle, in forest, at the precipice in the mountains, on the dark great sea, in the midst of javelins, and arrows in sleep, in conclusion, in the depths of shame, the good deeds a man has done before defend him.”
