OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

April 22, 2026

LIA PRESIDENT CHANDRA CLARK JACKSON ASCENDS TO REGIONAL LEADERSHIP AS WAICA PRESIDENT

MONROVIA – The Secretariat of the Liberia Insurance Association - LIA is immensely proud to announce that our sitting President (Interim), Mrs. Chandra Clark Jackson, has been officially inaugurated as the President of the West African Insurance Companies Association (WAICA). The historic transition took place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

Mrs. Jackson, the esteemed Chief Executive Officer of the Insurance Company of Africa (ICA), now carries the distinct honor of leading both our national body and the premier insurance association for the West African (anglophone) sub-region.

A PROVEN LEADER FOR A REGIONAL MANDATE

The Secretariat recognizes this achievement as a testament to Mrs. Jackson’s distinguished 15-year career. Her tenure as LIA President has been marked by rigorous reform and strategic growth. Her expertise is well-known across the corridor, having served as:

- Technical Lead for Insurance on Liberia’s AML/CFT National Risk Assessment.

- Member of the Expert Committee of the College of Insurance Supervisors in the West African Monetary Zone (WAMZ).

A NEW CHAPTER FOR THE INDUSTRY

This dual leadership role bridges the gap between the Liberian market and the broader West African insurance landscape. The Secretariat views this "Double Mandate" as a giant leap forward, ensuring that Liberia’s voice remains central to the evolution of regional insurance standards, innovation, and regulatory excellence.

We congratulate our President on this monumental milestone. Her ascension is not just a personal victory, but a triumph for every member of the Liberia Insurance Association and the nation at large.

Signed:
The Secretariat
