IT'S MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY🩸🩸🩸🩸
A day that every girl celebrates the fact that she bleeds.
She bleeds to signify her readiness for womanhood (motherhood). She sheds her blood with pride every month, that's how prepared she is to give life.

Menstrual is a thing of pride not a thing of Shame!!!!!

Today, our CEO Ms. Lorina F. Josiah wants to encourage every girl out there to always feel proud of having her monthly menstruations 🩸🩸🩸 and not ashamed that she bleeds.✊✊✊

A Powerful Stand from GCM!!!

Too many girls are suffering in silence, struggling to manage their periods with dignity every single month. This is not just a health issue, it’s a human rights issue.

Our CEO, Miss Lorina F. Josiah, is taking action! She has boldly pledged the Girls Circle Movement's full support to our sister organization, SheAdvances, as we join forces to end period poverty once and for all.

No girl should feel shame, discomfort, or be held back simply because she menstruates. We are stepping up to provide sanitary pads and restore confidence, pride, and dignity to our girls.

They deserve to bleed with pride. They deserve to bleed in comfort. And together, we will make that happen.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT BY CEO MS. LORINA F. JOSIAH
GIRLS CIRCLE MOVEMENT (GCM)
IN CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

March 8, 2025

Esteemed Women and Girls of GCM, Fellow Liberians, and the Global Village,

Today, we stand together to celebrate International Women’s Day a day that honors the strength, resilience, and achievements of women and girls across the world. It is a moment of reflection, appreciation, and renewed commitment to advancing gender equality and empowerment in every sphere of society.

As the CEO of the Girls Circle Movement (GCM), I extend my heartfelt wishes to all the incredible women and young girls within our movement, throughout Liberia, and beyond. Your courage, dedication, and unwavering spirit continue to shape our communities, inspire change, and break barriers for future generations.

This year’s International Women’s Day serves as a reminder that while we have made significant progress, there is still work to be done. Women and girls continue to face challenges, including gender-based violence, limited access to education and opportunities, and societal inequalities that hinder our full potential. However, I firmly believe that when we unite, support, and uplift each other, there is no obstacle too great to overcome.

At GCM, we are committed to fostering an environment where every girl has the opportunity to learn, lead, and thrive. We will continue advocating for policies that protect and promote women’s rights, ensuring that no girl is left behind. Our mission is clear: to empower the next generation of female leaders who will drive meaningful change in Liberia and beyond.

As we celebrate today, let us remember that every woman’s voice matters, every girl’s dream is valid, and every step toward equality brings us closer to a better world for all. Let us continue to rise, to inspire, and to make a difference in the lives of those around us.

Happy International Women’s Day! May we always stand strong, united, and unstoppable!

Thank you.

MS. LORINA F. JOSIAH

Before you win, you will first experience defeat. Before you are accepted, you will first be rejected, because success has no sweetness without the bitterness of failure. Don’t be afraid to try—fall nine times, rise on the tenth. Keep going, don’t stop.

Be proud of how you've been handling these last few months. The silent battles you've fought, the moments you had to humble yourself, the times you've wiped your tears. Celebrate your strength.
