OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF THE CENTRAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ON THE SUSPENSION OF FLOMO MASSAQUOI, VICE CHAIR FOR OPERATION OF THE ALTERNATIVE STUDENTS

December 15, 2020

Press Statement for Immediate Release

The Alternative Students' Congress suspends comrade Flomo Massaquoi as Vice Chairman for Operations for time indefinite, and distances itself from what it terms as an individual rubber stamp endorsement of a candidate by Flomo Massaquoi in the senior class election without consultation and consensus from the central executive committee.

Comrades, compatriots, and the fighting forces of the revolutionary rejuvenated sundry committees of the Alternative Student's Congress, militants, cadres of the conscious students' movement, members of the fourth estate; ladies and gentlemen.

The Central Executive Committee of the Alternative Students' Congress wishes to dispel allegations that the ASC has pledged its support to the Coalition of Innovative Students Alliance of AMEU.

On December 5, 2020, the Alternative Students' Congress was left stunned by a social media publication in which her Vice Chair for Operations unilaterally endorsed a candidate in the ensuing December 2020 Senior Class election without any agreement or decision by the central executive committee of ASC, and has been actively working with the side he endorsed; at such, the Central Executive Committee which is the highest-decision making body of the Alternative Students' Congress sees such occurrence as an act of double-crossing, gross insubordination, and a sheer apostasy.

For us, this doesn't come as a surprise for we are aware that in times of power haunt, brothers who do not have the moral compass and inculcated party discipline tend to revert to reactionary deportment.

As a result, the Central Executive Committee of the Alternative Students' Congress has reached an agreement to suspend for time indefinite comrade Flomo Massaquoi Vice Chair for Operations after his deliberate refusal to honor invitations of the central executive committee of ASC to address his unilateral endorsement whilst still in the position of the vice chair for operations on several occasions, and his constant behavior of issuing threats to members of the central executive committee who have been trying all possible means to provide due diligence in finding an amicable resolution.

Henceforth, the central executive committee of the Alternative Students' Congress hereby suspends Flomo Massaquoi Vice chair for Operations for time indefinite with immediate effect, and warns that anyone doing business with said individual under the ambiance of ASC will be venturing at their own risk.

Meanwhile, the Alternative Students Congress urges its members to place the movement's interest above personal interest, and encourages its members to disengage from activities that have the temerity to undermine our irreversible aims and objectives; as the central executive committee will officially and publicly endorse candidates for this election on tomorrow after a thorough vetting process.

Motto: Nothing for us without us, for AMEU deserves better.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF THE TRIPATITTE COLLABORATION OF AMEU ON THE SUSPENSION OF AN INGRATE IN PETER YANCY - DECEMBER 11, 2020

The Tripartite Collaborating Students’ Movement of the African Methodist Episcopal University, an altruistic and students’ centered movement that comprises of the Alternative Students Congress (ASC) which towers as the numero uno for building consciousness and the bulwark for the interest of the students masses at the African Methodist Episcopal University, Team MAS and Team YANCY salutes all cadres and militants of our revolutionary movement and sundry committees.

In the quest of establishing an uncompromising and staunch students’ movement to foster the principle of egalitarianism, practice the doctrine of left wing politics, and provide political direction, a group of astute and conscious minded students converged in 2016 to create a blueprint of their vision.

It was so, that they decided to join forces under one umbrella and named themselves: "The Alternative Students Congress"(ASC); cognizant of the varieties of choices and ways to achieve their desired goals as a Pan-African revolutionary students movement, for the Palm Tree in the AMEU Seal/logo represents an institution with a variety of choices; thus, the name (Alternative Students Congress) resonated and became recognized by the student populace, faculty, staff and other student groupings and remains a major factor in any student general elections on AMEU Campus evidenced by its political influence, and History of robust and uncompromising students’ advocacy.

Following that, the group became to extend her boundaries in affinity with its mission of introducing sound students’ related programs (Academic and Social cultural or Entrepreneurial) and student related policies to positively impact the students of AME University whilst providing political direction, and scrutinizing potential individuals and teams with political intentions to serve the students populace, and a vision of reawaking the spirit of fair and rewarding students politics, academics stature, as well as social organizations that would enhance a better and open environment to all.

Going forward, during the 2018/2019 academic year, ASC incorporated ''Team MAS" through a political matrimony, and supported then candidate Mildette A. Somah; thus, securing her victory in the freshman class election after winning the ASC primary and succeeding ASC’s first and astute candidate in person of ideologue cadre Nathan N. Gbelee.
Hence, the Alternative Students Congress has continuously provided political directions on the campus of AMEU by endorsing and supporting candidates and political movements in every strata of electoral activities ranging from freshman to the senior classes.

Against such putative backdrop, on October 16, 2019, the Alternative Students Congress (ASC) and the Movement of Astute Students (Team MAS) agreed to incorporate Team YANCY into their political marriage.

Accordingly, a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) was signed by the three (3) movements with crystal clear terms and conditions exclusively earmarking the roles and responsibilities of each movement beginning then and going forward; thus, forming a tripartite collaboration.

Going forward, the ASC and Team MAS lived up to the commitments enshrined in the Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) between the movements as clearly inscribed in section 2 of the MOU “. The movements have discussed the possibilities of forming a collaboration, stating that:

a) Team YANCY must firstly become a full fleshed member of the ASC - Team MAS' collaboration, thereby bringing the movements to a tripartite movement/ Collaboration.

b) After winning elections, Team YANCY and Team MAS must remain in close consultation with the ASC in every decision – making process and activities.

c) All teams (Team MAS and Team YANCY and ASC) must attend executive meetings of each team.

d) The Alternative Students Congress must provide strategic support and canvass for Team YANCY and Team MAS in the 2019/20 freshman class election.

Likewise, Team MAS and Team YANCY must do same with the ASC.

e) All teams must ensure mutual respect and understanding among each other by working together and properly communicating, planning and implementing political and social activities.

Accordingly, the ASC and Team MAS ensured that team YANCY was properly politically capacitated, and directed the formation of Team YANCY’s campaign platform, canvassed, prepared Peter Yancy for the electoral debate.

On the contrary, the political leader of Team YANCY and current Freshman president Peter Yancy has refused to abide by the terms of agreement of the MOU based on his deceptive actions, character semblance of betrayal to that of Peter in the Bible who denied Jesus thrice and violation of section two (2) d and e of the MOU which states:

“The movements have discussed the possibilities of forming a collaboration, stating that:

(d) The Alternative Students Congress must provide strategic support and canvass for Team YANCY and Team MAS in the 2019/20 freshman class election. Likewise, Team MAS and Team YANCY must do same with the ASC.

(e) All teams must ensure mutual respect and understanding among each other by working together and properly communicating, planning and implementing political and social activities.

In the full existence of such MOU that the chairman of team YANCY has his John Hancock (Signature) on; according to reliable and credible intelligence received by the tripartite collaboration, Peter Yancy impudently pledged his support to the candidacy of Kollie Moore, former candidate of the Strategic Thinkers, and a non-member of the tripartite collaboration who came 3rd during the 2017/2018 freshman election that brought the ASC’s first candidate Cadre Ideologue Nathan N. Gbelee to power.

With shared respect, and practice of due diligence, the tripartite collaboration invited Peter Yancy to several meetings through formal communications to iron things out and hear his account especially after the information of his (Peter Yancy) back-pedaling, double standard politics and Nichodemus approach was again confirmed by Kollie Moore who in a joint meeting with the tripartite collaboration publicly said Peter Yancy and the the political leader of Team Mas, and Freshman Preident emeritus (2018/2019) Mildette A. Somah agreed to support his bid for the senior class presidency and they have been working on said cause.

With such revelation, the Alternative Students Congress cited the two accused leaders of both Team MAS and Team YANCY to a meeting with Kollie Moore to ascertain the information, but only Mildette A. Somah attended the meeting and dismissed Kollie Moore’s accusation and reaffirmed her commitment to the tripartite collaboration on grounds of the existing MOU.

Still wanting to do the right thing as exemplary student leaders, the tripartite collaboration gave Peter Yancy another opportunity to clear his name but he remains dumbfounded and even more recalcitrant; thus, compelling the tripartite collaboration to make this decision; agreeing through majority vote to suspend the membership of Peter Yancy with immediate effect until all election activities for this semester are over.

Henceforth, the tripartite Collaboration hereby suspends Mr. Peter I. Yancy, freshman president and political leader of Team Yancy with immediate effect; until all election activities for this semester are over, and warns that anyone doing business with Peter Yancy under the ambience of the tripartite collaboration will be doing so at their own risk.

Meanwhile, the tripartite collaboration urges its members to place the Collaboration’s interest above personal interest, and also encourages its members to disengage from activities that have the temerity to undermine our irreversible aims and objectives; as the collaboration will soon provide information about the participation of its member movements in the ensuing political process on campus.

WISHING AMEU STUDENTS HAPPY FLAG DAY AND POINTING THE PAN-AFRICAN NATURE OF LIBERIAN FLAG

The first weave of Liberian flag during the 19th century, 24 August 1847 impelled the steadfastness of Pan-African revolutionaries to persist struggling for Black Personality everywhere, moreso on the African continent.

Pan-African students movements were never paled in shadow of European neither American intimidations to abandon the black struggle, but they stood with strong solidarity beside others revolutionary sects in confrontation of the oppressors for liberation.

Liberia's loose from western entanglement and slave suppression and the gains of black struggle are what the Liberian flag symbolizes.

This is how sober we travel in reflection of the flag of Africa's first republic - which provided endurance for the independence urge for many other African nations.

As we look to hoisting and celebrating a united states of Africa flag day, we are wishing every student of AME University and all Liberians happy FLAG DAY.

THEN AND NOW, AME UNIVERSITY COMPULSORY ONLINE LEARNING FUTILITY

For the second consecutive time the administration of AME University imposes online learning to the disadvantage of mass of its students. Though the university approaches the program with more elusiveness this time; the scheme lies bare to futility like the just completed online semester that denied over five hundred unprivileged students the completion of the semester aborted by Corona virus due to conditions still unresolved. Yet the administration is poised to begin another online program with the existing unresolved conditions. The endeavor is nothing but application of one methodology applied over and again in anticipation of different results which is unattainable but predestines the same fate each time the same thing is done repeatedly even with different tricks. If it failed the first try, it will inevitably dump the next. Such is the sinking shore AME University’s ‘Leave No One Behind’ accelerated online program stands.

More unfathomably, the ‘Leave No One Behind’ online program is touted as an opportunity for the leftover five hundred and more students who didn’t enroll the previous online program due to lack of smartphone, data, electricity and other unfortunate conditions to complete the aborted semester. The mind boggling curiosity is how will the still contestable five hundred twenty one students utilize the chance to complete the semester online when they still lack the basic necessities (smartphone, data etc.) for online classes? This time, will the university make available the means (basic necessities) for students to join the online program? To these inquiries the administration attends with the loudest taciturnity.

Preoccupies with surplus accumulation the administration is cleverly throwing a dash with six on all its four sides. It doesn’t matter which side of the dash hits the ground, the administration is the ultimate winner of this gamble.

To conceal the furtive motive of the Accelerated Online Program (AOP), the administration envelopes the students in smoke with the heralding of the mantra ‘Leave No One Behind’, but the same program left five hundred and twenty one students behind the last time. The online scheme left behind even its shadow to accommodate the leftover students. It will again leave many students behind due to lack of necessities for online learning. What then will the administration do with students that will undeniably leave behind again? Will it organize another online program again, again and again?

We will continue to urge AMEU authority to do itself favor and organize a special traditional vacation school for students without smartphone and necessities for online learning. Alternative special onsite vacation is the germane way out for unprivileged students to complete the 2019/2020 semester two.

At the other pole are students who enrolled the just ended online Google Classes but dropped either of lost or damaged phones or gadgets and other reasons. Students of these categories received ‘DR’ (dropped) or ‘I’ (incomplete) for dropping the last online semester. If these same students enroll again, for some reason drop what would be their fate? Is it another ‘DR’ or ‘I’?

As the AMEU's administration customarily imposes this policy on students, unabatedly, we will prod the university to allow students enroll the online classes at will considering their financial strength to shoulder the huge financial burden attached to the online studies.

Students with necessities for online classes can enroll the Accelerated Online Program, the administration can amass its surplus while unprivileged students without the basic online necessities have alternative to complete the semester through special traditional vacation school.

Both the administration and students have been affected by Corona pandemic. Policies to remedy problems caused by the pandemic must benefit both the administration and the students, even if some compromises must be made, it can not be at the detriment of the struggling students the university garner soared profit.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF THE ALTERNATIVE STUDENTS CONGRESS ON THE EXPULSION OF AN INGRATE IN S. MORRIS MASSALAY - JULY 20, 2020

The Central Executive Committee of our Pan-African revolutionary movement, the Alternative Students Congress (ASC) which towers as the numero uno for building consciousness and the bulwark for the interest of the students masses at the African Methodist Episcopal University salutes all cadres and militants of our revolutionary movement and sundry committees.

The beaming love and martyr spirit of our cadres and militants remain the impetus of our revolutionary mettlesome and ideological impregnability of this revolutionary movement.

As it is the doctrine and moral incumbency that all militants of our movement uncompromisingly guide and protect the alter-ego of our movement, the Central Executive Committee of the ASC will continue to jealously uphold and defend this conscious juggernaut. However, let it be known that the ASC will not hesitate to keelhaul any reactionary element whose aim is to bring our institution to public disrepute and subject it to the cesspit of dishonor and revolutionary ignominy by seeking personal cultism and self-aggrandizement at the expense of our cherished movement.
With the power vested and reposed in the Central Executive Committee - the highest decision-making body of the ASC, the Alternative Students Congress hereby, without further delay expels S. Morris Massalay with immediate effect from all activities of the institution.

Consequently, for several semesters, Massalay persistently depicts his stalinist tendency and remains egregiously repugnant to the leadership and entire membership of our movement.
In October 2018, during the chairmanship of our immediate past chairman Cde. Thomas T. Doe, Massalay publicly insulted the ASC on the campus of AMEU and spewed lies against our movement as a way of being accepted in another cycle, whilst blaming our movement for his sophomore class defeat; although, it came as a result of his heedlessness and caricature drift.
For the record, the ASC played a pivotal role in campaigning for the Jacobo (traitor) in Massalay, from the ASC's primary to the coining of his campaign platform and through the end of electoral process. Thus, Massalay lost the election for his political stupidity and flagrant refusal to remain in compliance with the ASC after our movement coined his campaign agenda; the chap planned and implemented his campaign activities against the ASC with no consultation. Subsequently, After being miserably flogged in the election for choosing not to work with the movement, he resulted to publicly attacking the ASC, as a result of frustration and prolonged hatred and envy, he specifically disgorges claptraps at the person of his leader Nathan N. Gbelee, the then freshman class president emeritus and ASC's first standard bearer whom Massalay served as Secretary General in the freshman class leadership of 2017/2018.
After realization of his missteps and his ordeal of experiencing the students scourge of disappointments for wrongly attacking ideologue Nathan N. Gbelee, he publicly apologized to Gbelee, but refused to do same to the leadership of the ASC. Since then, Massalay has deserted himself from the movement, but has been active with other campus-based political groupings and leaderships which implies no sense of real remorse or regret for constantly insulting officials of ASC and betraying the moral ideals of our movement.

The leadership of the ASC prudently decided not to expel nor suspend Massalay then, giving him the opportunity to realize his transgression for repentance as a political prodigal son for which he enjoyed other privileges and remained in the official general chatroom and other social media outlets of the movement.

However, the ASC has been proactively implementing its plan of action. In 2019, the movement went to congress and elected a new leadership with Comrade Abraham Africa Bailen Boimah transcending as Chairman, Augustus Nimely, Vice Chair for Administration, McDonald Gbasay, Vice Chair for Political Affairs, Flomo Massaquoi, Vice Chair for Operations, Tony Bemah as Secretary General and Nathan N. Gbelee as Assistant Secretary General respectively; among other appointed committees officials.

After supporting the presidency of Cde. Mildette A. Somah who succeeded the 2017/2018 Freshman class president emeritus Nathan N. Gbelee, the movement decided to support the presidential bid of Peter Yancy; providing strategic plans, platform formulation, technical support and canvassing, thus joining a political matrimony with Team MAS and Team Yancy to form a tripartite collaboration.

Going forward, the ASC lived up to its commitment as enshrined in the Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) between the movements by supporting Team Yancy and ensuring its victory in the just-ended freshman class election as was done with Mildette A. Somah.

Amidst all of these occurences, the renegade in Massalay remains heedless to the operations of the ASC, thus spewing verbose and steadfast hatred and misguided mal-information maintaining his envious compunction coupled with his self-isolation from the ASC on delusive claims void of empirical evidence and logical reasoning.

Fast forward to this semester, Massalay only shared the official press statement of the ASC on May 1st stating our movement's position on AMEU's online migration program to spew out lies and again attack the ASC and some executive officials to bring the institution to public disrepute, a means to please his listless political masters; an attempt which amounted to no dice but the resistance from our vigorous militants prayed the devil back to hell.

After the leadership of the ASC reverberated caveats to the simpleton to refrain from his hateful and sophomoric display, Massalay again took on to Facebook usurping as an executive member of the ASC and using the ASC's logo. He posted what he claimed was the official position of the ASC. This again met huge disclaimer from notably our militants. The minikin didn't stop there but added non-members to the official chatroom of ASC, an act the leadership deems very unruly and tantamount to treachery which can not go unpunished.

It is against this backdrop that the Central Executive Committee has decided to expel with immediate effect the charlatan and apostate in one failed political toddler S. Morris Massalay who disregarded the movement's liberal stance on giving him a second chance to return to the movement.

Now, we say to the general public, S. Morris Massalay is no longer a member of the Alternative Students Congress; at such, any individual or organization doing business with Massalay is venturing at their own risk.
