PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SPC CONDEMNS SHUTDOWN OF STUDENT SUPPORT OPERATIONS AT BCTC
Gbarnga, B**g County — October 13, 2025
The Student Progress Congress (SPC) expresses serious concern over the recent action by the Office of Student Services, working in collaboration with the B**g County Student Council Leadership, to forcibly stop our printing and student support operations on the campus of B**g County Technical College (BCTC).
Earlier today, the Dean of Student Services and the Student Council Government officials moved to our printing area, packed up our materials, and took them to the Office of the Student Services.
This interruption affected dozens of students who were printing and photocopying their control and grade sheets for registration.
We find this action unjust and unnecessary, especially as our initiative was created to assist students in reducing the stress and high cost of registration.
Since the pre-registration period, SPC has been providing these services as part of our continued commitment to student welfare; not for political campaigning, but for genuine student support.
The Student Progress Congress (SPC) is a legally registered political party on the BCTC campus and has the right to operate freely under the rules governing student organizations.
Our team has always acted responsibly, ensuring that all materials are properly managed and used solely for the benefit of the student body.
We strongly believe that the issue could have been addressed through dialogue and understanding, rather than forceful seizure of materials. SPC remains open to engaging the administration and other student bodies to find peaceful and fair solutions that put students first.
SPC therefore calls on:
1. The BCTC Administration to immediately release our materials and allow us to resume operations in support of students.
2. The Office of Student Services to engage SPC in constructive dialogue to prevent future misunderstandings.
3. The Student Union Government to promote collaboration and inclusion among all student organizations, instead of taking sides or actions that divide the student community.
SPC reaffirms its unwavering commitment to service, fairness, and progress at B**g County Technical College.
We will continue to stand firm in our mission to empower students, support their needs, and uphold their right to participate freely in campus life.

SPC Congratulates Alfred Kollie and Team on Their Induction
The leadership and members of the Student Progressive Congress - SPC - BCTC (SPC) extend warm greetings to all students of B**g County Technical College.
We wish to sincerely congratulate Mr. Alfred Kollie and his team of officials on their induction into office.
This achievement marks a significant moment for student leadership, and we encourage them to serve diligently in the best interest of every student at BCTC.
Regarding the absence of SPC from the induction program, we want to clarify that it was never our intention to stay away. However, as the only party that stood in opposition to the two collaborating parties, we had expected a formal invitation to the program.
Based on our experience with similar events in the past, SPC decided to stay away to avoid any situation that could lead to misunderstanding or negativity.
Despite this, SPC remains committed to supporting every initiative intended to build a better B**g County Technical College.
We look forward to collaborating on programs and policies that promote the welfare and academic growth of all students.
Once again, congratulations to the newly inducted officials. Let us all work together for the good of BCTC.
