FAITH PAYE SENTENCED TO 12 YEARS IMPRISONMENT IN GRAND BASSA.

The Resident Circuit Judge of the Second Judicial Circuit, Grand Bassa County, Judge Joe S. Barkon, today, Friday, July 14, 2023 sentenced defendant Faith Paye of the Christian High Community, Buchanan, to 12 years of imprisonment.

Faith was sentenced for the crime of Gang R**e, in which a 14 year old female was gang r***d on Palm Beach, Upper Buchanan, Grand Bassa .

The case was tried by jury and the defendant, a 23 year old female was found guilty on July 5, 2023 .

She pulled the victim in the water , opened her legs, and another person, male, forced the victim in s*x . The other fellow, Quincy Boy is on the run .

Ahead of the 2023 Presidential and Legislative Elections, Grand Bassa County Superintendent Janjay Baikpeh has vowed to resign his post.

Superintendent Baikpeh said his decision to resign follows recent order by President George Weah mandating all presidential appointees aspiring for elected positions to resign.

President George Weah has mandated all of his appointees planning to contest in the emerging October 10 elections to resign their post beginning April 7.

Hon. Janjay Baikpeh was appointed as Superintendent by President George Weah since his ascendency in 2018.

However, in consistent with the President’s mandate, Superintendent Baikpeh said he will resign and focus on his political activities in electoral district 2 Grand Bassa County, the district of incumbent Lawmaker Mary Karwor.

Buchanan Magisterial Court Grand Bassa County has been allegedly burglarized by some Unknown individuals.

The incident occurred, today Friday, March 10, 2023 in Port City of Buchanan.

Making the disclosure to Tv Gbehzohn the Magistrate of the Court Judge James Kaba, said unknown individuals allegedly broken into the court and vernalized the cupboards holding several documents of the court and criminally took away a 3000-W Total generator.

He put the cost of the generator at about 350 United States Dollars.

However, despite ongoing investigation by the Bassa Detachment of the Liberia National Police, Magisterial Kaba is calling on citizens in the County to help bring the alleged perpetrators to book noting the generator is paramount to the daily operations of the Court.
