The Official Ceremony of the First Working Day of the Year 2023 held today at the PDHS Office with the participation of Dr. D.G.M. Costa, Provincial Director of Health Services Eastern Province and all staff of the PDHS Office.

A Professional Motivation Training Programme for the Staff of the Provincial Department of Health Services, Eastern Province was held on 06.10.2022 at the Conference Hall of the PDHS Office.

Mr. K. T. Prashanthan, Founder of KTP Consultancy & Training was the resource person of this training programme.

The main objectives were to enhance right attitude and mindset for better results, cultivate the good communication practices of high performing teams and to perform in professional and personal life beyond crisis.

Staff of the Provincial Department of Health Services, Eastern Province harvested the Ground Nuts, which was planted on 02.06.2022 during the National Environment Week.

Dr. D.G.M. Costa Provincial Director of Health Services EP, Dr. K. Mohanakumar DPDHS, Dr. S. Arulkumaran Consultant Community Phycisian, Dr. V. Kugaendiran Medical Officer Planning, Ms. K. Rajini Administrative Officer and all staff of the PDHS Office has participated this event.

A farewell of Dr. A.R.M. Thowfeek, former Provincial Director of Health Services, Eastern Province and the welcoming ceremony of new Provincial Director of Health Services, Eastern Province was held on 24.08.2022 at the Auditorium of the PDHS Office Eastern Province. All staff of the PDHS office were present at this event.

16 Nursing Officers from the Eastern Province have been promoted to Class I after completing the diploma course. The promotion letters have been issued by Dr. A.R.M. Thowfeek, Provincial Director of Health Services, Eastern Province on 30.06.2022 at the PDHS Office, Eastern Province.

Provincial Department of Health Services, Eastern Province has organized a 'Shramadana' to initiate home gardening at PDHS premises to remark the National Environment Week and World Environment Day Celebration.

Dr. A.R.M. Thowfeek Provincial Director of Health Services EP, Dr. V. Kugaendiran Medical Officer Planning, Mr. H.V.A.M. Hassan Chief Accountant, Ms. K. Rajini Administrative Officer and all staff of the PDHS Office has participated this event.

Primary Medical Care Unit, Chinabay of Trincomalee region has been declared opened today (26.04.2022) by Mrs. J.J. Muraleetharan Secretary Ministry of Health EP with the participation of Dr. A.R.M. Thowfeek Provincial Director of Health Services EP, Dr. D.G.M. Costa Regional Director of Health Services Trincomalee, Dr. K. Mohanakumar Deputy Provincial Director of Health Services EP, Dr. V. Premananth Deputy Regional Director of Health Services Trincomalee Region, Dr. V. Kugaendiran Medical Officer Planning and other officers.

This Primary Medical Care Unit has been constructed under the PSDG fund.

Ward Sisters and Ward Masters of the Provincial Health Institutions have been promoted to the Post of Grade I Nursing Officers (Hospital Service) after they completing the Diploma course.

This promotion ceremony held at the Provincial Department of Health Services, Eastern Province under the patronage of Mrs. J.J. Muraleetharan, Secretary Ministry of Health EP with the participation of Dr. A.R. Mohamed Thowfeek Provincial Director of Health Services, EP, Dr. V. Premananth, Deputy Regional Director of Health Services, Trincomalee Region, Dr. Vanniyasingham Kugaendiran Medical Officer Planning, Administrative Officers of the Ministry of Health and PDHS Office.

World Health Day is celebrated globally on 7th April. This year, the Provincial Department of Health Services, EP has arranged a programme by planting tree towards "Green Effect" to protect our planet and sustain the health and wellbeing of the people. An awareness programme has also been conducted to the staff of the PDHS Office.
