අස්වනු නෙලීමට ලං වූ අපේ කුඹුරු යාය

පරිසර හිතකාමී ක්‍රමයට වගා කිරීමේදී අපි නිතරම නියරේ තණකොළ සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම ඉවත් නොකර තණකොල කපා පාලනය කිරීම පමණක් කරනවා. එසේ කිරීමට මූලික හේතුවක් වන්නේ කුඹුරේ ජෛවවිවිධත්වය ආරක්ෂා කර ගැනීමයි. තවත් විදියකින් කිව්වොත් වගාවට අහිතකර සතුන්ව ස්වභාවිකව පාලනය කරන හිතකර සතුන් වැඩිපුරම වාසය කරන්නේ මේ නියරේ. ඉතින් අපි කුඹුරේ නියරෙ තණකොළ සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම ඉවත් කර මඩ තිබ්බොත් ඒ හිතකර සතුන්ට ජීවත් වෙන්න තියෙන ඉඩ සහ උචිත පරිසරය සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම අහිමි වෙනවා. ඒ නිසා හැකි සෑම විටම කුඹුරේ නියරේ තණකොළ පාලනය කිරීම පමණක් සිදු කරනවා.

Our fields are close to harvest.

When cultivating in an environmentally friendly way, we always cut and control the weeds without removing them completely. A primary reason for doing so is to preserve the biodiversity of the paddy field. In other words, beneficial animals that naturally control harmful animals live mostly in this area. If we completely remove the grass and leave only mud, the living space and suitable environment for these beneficial animals will be lost. Therefore, whenever possible, we only control the grass near the field.

හම්බන්තොට Caritas Sri Lanka - SEDEC ආයතනය සමඟ වැඩකරන ගොවි ගෙවිලියන් 50 දෙන්නෙකු පමණ මඩ සහ ගොඩ ගොවිතැන පාරිසරික කෘෂිකාර්මික ප්‍රවේශයකින් සිදුකරන්නේ කොහොමද කියලා ඉගෙන ගන්න අප ආයතනයට පැමිනියා. දවස් දෙකක නේවාසික වැඩමුළුවකට සම්බන්ධ වුන මේ අය එදා ඉඳන් රසායනික පොහොර භාවිතා කරල ගොවිතැන් කරපු අය. මේ වැඩසටහනේදී මේ ගොවි ගෙවිලියන්ට වසවිස භාවිතයෙන් තොරව මඩ ගොවිතැන සහ ගොඩ ගොවිතැන් කරන්නේ කොහොමද කියලා ඉගෙන ගන්න පුලුවන් වුනා

Farmers who are working with Caritas Sri lanka visited EFTC farmland to learn about agroecology. These farmers are conventional farmers who used to cultivate using agrochemicals. But they wanted to turn in to agroecology with right knowledge and they come to us for learning.
