𝐈𝐬𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐑𝐮𝐠𝐛𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 - 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

Senior coloursman Nisaja Jayaweera has been officially appointed as the Captain of the Isipathana College 01st XV Rugby Team for the year 2024. While Shaahid Zumri has been appointed as the vice-captain of the 2024 rugby team.

We wish them both and the Team 2024 all the very best.

𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧.

We are pleased to announce that Saliya Kumara, Dhanushka Botheju & Hashan Gomes have all extended their contracts and will be retained for the 2024 season. Saliya will continue as the head coach & look into the Back division while Dhanushka Botheju will continue his role as the Forwards coach. Hashan Gomes will be entrusted as the trainer for 3rd consecutive year. In addition, the college Rugby committee has also retained the services of Dr. Asanka Welgamage (Team Doctor), Shafin Majid (Physio), Supun Chandana (Physio) & Rehan Mussadiq (Team Manager).
Meanwhile Chanaka Chandimal, Ganuka Dissanayake who were in charge of the under 16 team, have been promoted to senior setup and will be in charge of the college under 18 rugby team.

We wish all the coaches and back room staff the very best for next year!

The Under 16 All Island 10-A-Side rugby tournament will be worked off on the 30th September & 01st of October at Bogambara Stadium & Trinity College Rugby Stadium, Pallekale.

Isipathana will be in group "D" along with St.Peter's, Mahanama & Devapathiraja. All group "D" games will be played at Bogambara Stadium.

Be there in numbers to support the Junior Isipathanians.

Congratulations to our former Isipathana 1st XV champions Adeesha (2016), Ravindu (2018) and Kavindu (2012) who have been selected to final touring squad of the Sri Lanka 7s team for the Asian Games. We wish the trio and the entire team all the very best.

We wish our Brothers at Thurstan College the very best for the premier trophy finals tomorrow and invite Isipathanians to come support the team In Blue, Red and Gold at Havelock park.

Unbeaten St. Peter’s College crowned Dialog Schools Rugby League 2023 Champions Unbeaten St. Peter’s College clinched the Dialog Schools Rugby League 2023 after a lapse of 13 years with a resounding victory over last year’s winners Isipathana College, 28 points to 17, in the decider game worked off at Bambalapitiya on Saturday.
