ඇකඩමික් තෙස්පියන්ස් නාට්‍ය උළෙල 2025

As part of his visit, Dr. Adrian McNeil, Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Graduate Studies, UVPA, will present a live Sarod performance on 9th October 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Lionel Edirisinghe Rostrum.

Dr. McNeil is an Australian-based sarod player and ethnomusicologist, trained in the guru–shishya parampara of Hindustani music under the guidance of Pandit Ashok Roy, Professor Sachindranath Roy, and Dr. Ashok Ranade over many years in India and Australia.

📢 Event Highlights | Official Launch of the Tagore Indo-Asia Foundation for Creative Inquiry

We are proud to announce the successful official launch of the Tagore Indo-Asia Foundation for Creative Inquiry, held today at the Lionel Edirisinghe Rostrum, Faculty of Music.

The event was graced by His Excellency Mr. Santosh Jha, the High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, as the Chief Guest. We were also honoured by the presence of Prof. Ankuran Dutta, Director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, High Commission of India, Colombo.

Their participation highlighted the strong cultural and academic ties between India and Sri Lanka, and their commitment to fostering collaborative platforms for artistic and intellectual exchange.

Initiated by the Centre for International Relations, the Foundation draws inspiration from the timeless legacy of Rabindranath Tagore and aims to promote cross-cultural dialogue, creative inquiry, and academic collaboration across Asia.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all dignitaries, university leadership, faculty, students, and guests who contributed to making this event a memorable and meaningful success.
