A new group of aspiring tech professionals has officially started their journey with the Computer Science Top-up programme offered by Goldsmiths, University of London through BCAS Campus.

The inauguration marked more than the start of a new journey, it marked the beginning of new ideas, stronger skills, bigger ambitions and the next step towards an internationally recognised degree.

What began as a few days of curiosity turned into something much bigger.

Students stepped into unfamiliar spaces, tried things they had never done before, challenged their own ideas, and discovered new sides of themselves along the way.

They presented, created, experimented, questioned, collaborated, and learned through experience rather than simply being told what to expect.

By the end of the week, it was no longer just about workshops. It was about confidence gained, interests discovered, friendships made, and possibilities that suddenly felt more real.

Sometimes, the right experience is all it takes to see your future differently.

Hospitality is an industry you have to experience, observe and understand beyond the classroom.

Our Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management students recently visited SriLankan Catering and Vivanta Colombo, Airport Garden, gaining valuable exposure to the standards, operations, service culture and teamwork that drive the hospitality industry.

And this is only the beginning.

With more industry visits, professional exposure and practical learning experiences planned, our students will continue to see how the knowledge they gain in class comes to life in real hospitality environments.

At BCAS, classroom learning alone is not enough. We are focused on developing confident, capable and industry-ready professionals with the skills, mindset and exposure needed to succeed in the world of tourism and hospitality.

From understanding the guest experience to discovering the global opportunities behind the field, the session opened up a side of hospitality that goes far beyond hotels.

Students also got hands-on by creating their own virgin mocktails, learning how presentation, flavour, creativity, and service all come together in the hospitality experience.

A little creativity, a little technique, and a refreshing way to experience hospitality beyond the classroom.

This one started with a blank idea.

Students were challenged to create their own brand, develop its identity, design a logo, and then turn that idea into an attractive advertising video.

What followed was a mix of creativity, teamwork, strategy, and quick decision-making exactly the kind of thinking that sits behind real brands.

It was less about hearing what business is, and more about building something from scratch and making people want to notice it.

BCAS Campus proudly announces Mr. Manicavasagar Elancheleyan, AAL, Former High Court Judge of Sri Lanka, as the Dean of the Faculty of Law.

A career defined by law, leadership and service now enters a new chapter: bringing decades of real-world judicial experience into legal education and helping shape the lawyers, advocates and legal thinkers of tomorrow.

This is more than an appointment. It is a major new chapter for Law at BCAS.
