Ending April on a colourful Avurudu note 💚🌞—a look back at how we celebrated tradition, togetherness and joy

As part of our Sinhala and Tamil Avurudu celebrations earlier this month, Silvermill employees came together once again for our much-loved Kevili Pola and Avurudu Kreeda, bringing everyone together in the true spirit of the season.

Our Kevili Pola showcased a vibrant spread of traditional Avurudu sweets, homemade treats, and creative craft items, reflecting the talent, effort, and festive spirit of our teams across the Group.

From beautifully prepared treats to moments of friendly competition and laughter, the day reflected the creativity, energy, and unity of our people. Take a look at some of the highlights below!

It’s World Earth Day — and for us, caring for the environment is not limited to just one day.

As an Agribusiness, we carry a responsibility that goes beyond moments — from our commitment towards becoming Net Zero to the everyday choices we make across our operations.

Today, as we continue moving forward, we’re reminded that this journey is not only about long-term goals — but also about the everyday actions that bring them to life.

Aligned with this year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” we continue to do our part in ways big and small. During HSE Week 2026, this came through in simple yet meaningful actions — from factory and office clean-up efforts that brought our teams together to maintain cleaner, safer workspaces, to a plant donation initiative at the National Zoological Gardens of Sri Lanka (Dehiwala), supporting greener spaces beyond our own operations.

When we act together, our everyday actions will add up to create lasting change.

World Health Day: Caring for Our People, Every Day

A couple of weeks ago, we held our annual Health & Safety Week 2026, themed “I Choose Safety – For Us, for the Environment.” Alongside safety and environmental initiatives, a strong focus was placed on the health and wellbeing of our people.

From dental and eye check-ups to NCD screenings, blood donation drives, and health awareness sessions, we brought care closer to our teams, making it easier to take a step forward and look after themselves.

Because at the heart of it all is a simple belief — a culture of care. Taking care of one another, encouraging early action, and making health a priority, not just for one week, but in how we care every day.
