Achintha Jayasena had dreamed of wearing Trinity’s No. 8 jersey.

Minula Yaddehige had to fight his way back from injury because, in his own words, he knew he “couldn’t play without my jersey.”

Two very different stories that reveal what wearing those colours meant to a group of boys reaching the end of their school rugby journey.

They had worked towards these jerseys for years. They had grown up wearing them. And in 2026, they would wear them for the final time — finishing their Trinity careers as unbeaten champions.

The trophies will remain.

But for The Seniors, there was something else they knew they could never get back:
