පළාත් සභා හා පළාත් පාලන නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය ගරු. පී.රුවන් සෙනරත් මහතා ඉකුත්දා (09) පළාත් පාලනය පිළිබඳ ශ්‍රී ලංකා ආයතනයේ නිරීක්ෂණ චාරිකාවක් සඳහා එක්විය. එම අවස්ථාව සඳහා රාජ්‍ය පරිපාලන, පළාත් සභා හා පළාත් පාලන අමාත්‍යංශයේ ලේකම් එස් ආලෝකබණ්ඩාර මහතා සහ තවත් ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ නිලධාරින් රැසක් සහභාගි වූහ. මෙහිදී ආයතනයේ වත්මන් ප්‍රගතිය සහ අනාගත සැළසුම් පිළිබඳ ආයතනයේ අධ්‍යක්ෂ/ප්‍රධාන විධායක නිලධාරී ආචාර්ය සූරතිස්ස දිසානායක මහතා ඇතුළු කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය සමග සාකච්ඡා කරන ලදී.

සැළසුම් හා ගොඩනැගිලි රෙගුලාසි සම්බන්ධ පුහුණු වැඩමුළුවක් ඉකුත් දෙසැම්බර් 06 වන දින පළාත් පාලනය පිළිබඳ ශ්‍රී ලංකා ආයතනයේදි සාර්ථකව පැවැත්විණ. නාගරික සංවර්ධනධ අධිකාරියේ නියෝජ්‍ය අධ්‍යක්ෂ-සැළසුම් , නිර්මලා කුලතුංග මහත්මිය වැඩමුළුව මෙහෙයවන ලදී. ආයතනයේ අධ්‍යක්ෂ/ ප්‍රධාන විධායක නිලධාරී ආචාර්ය සූරතිස්ස දිසානායක මහතාගේ මඟපෙන්වීම යටතේ භෞතික සැළසුම්, පරිසර හා ඉංජිනේරු අංශය වැඩමුළුව සංවිධානය කරන ලදී.

successful workshop on "Planning and Building Regulations" took place on December 6, 2024, at the Sri Lanka Institute of Local Governance. The workshop was facilitated by Ms. Nirmala Kulathunga, Deputy Director (Planning) of the Urban Development Authority. It was conducted by the Physical Planning, Environment and Engineering Division under the guidance of Dr. Suratissa Dissanayake, Director/CEO.

A one-day workshop on Thematic Map Preparation using QGIS at the SLILG IT Resource Center has been successfully completed!

The Sri Lanka Institute of Local Governance (SLILG) successfully conducted a transformative one day workshop on the 30th of July 2024, under the theme "Google Workspace to Improve Productivity of Local Authorities' service delivery"

This initiative, the brainchild of our Director and CEO, Dr. D.M. Suratissa, was organized by our dedicated ICT Division. 🌐💻
Participants had the opportunity to dive deep into the powerful tools and features of Google Workspace, learning how to leverage these technologies to streamline operations, enhance collaboration, and boost productivity within local authorities. The workshop was hugely successful, with insightful sessions, hands-on activities, and engaging discussions.

We are immensely grateful to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event a milestone in our journey towards empowering local governance through technology.

නූතන තාක්ෂණය භාවිතයෙන් පළාත් පාලන ආයතන ඩිජිටල්කරණය කිරීම පිළිබඳ පුහුණු වැඩමුළුවක් ඉකුත් ජුලි 18 වන දින පළාත් පාලනය පිළිබඳ ශ්‍රී ලංකා ආයතනයේ ප්‍රධාන ශ්‍රවණාගාරයේදී පැවැත්විණ. මෙම වැඩමුළුව ආයතනයේ අධ්‍යක්ෂ ප්‍රධාන විධායක නිලධාරි ආචාර්ය සූරතිස්ස දිසානායක මහහතාගේ උපදෙස් පරිදී ඉංජිනේරු අංශයේ වැඩසටහන් නිලධාරි ජගත් දිසානායක මහතා විසින් සංවිධානය කරන ලදී.

A successful workshop on "Urban Digitalisation towards Sustainability" was held on July 18, 2024, at the SLILG Auditorium. The event was organized by Mr. Jagath Dissanayake, the Program Officer of the Engineering Division at SLILG, under the guidance of Dr. Suratissa Dissanayake, the Director/CEO.

A workshop on using Excel for e-Governance and Research took place on June 27th and 28th, 2024. The session was led by Dr. Nimal Gunathilake from the Department of Geography at the University of Colombo. Organized by the research division of the institute, the program was supervised by Dr. Suratissa Dissanayake, the Director/CEO.

In June 2024, the Sri Lanka Institute of Local Governance and World Vision Lanka engaged in preliminary discussions to initiate a Capacity Building program focusing on solid waste management policy, models, and community engagement at the District Level.

program involved Dr. Suratissa Dissanayake, Director of the Sri Lanka Institute of Local Governance, and representatives from World Vision Lanka, including Mr. Nimal Premathilake.

The project aims to create livelihood opportunities for communities affected by poverty through a multi-sectoral waste management system.

The targeted areas include Local Authorities in Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Central and Southern provinces. One of the main objectives of the project is to provide Capacity Building on solid waste management policy, business models, best practices, and community engagement for District Level Local Government Officials.
