Light lamps to celebrate the victory of light over darkness

"හෙට මැරුනත් සිතට සැපයි අද ජොලි කරලා..

මැරුනදාට කොෆින් එකෙ අපි නිදියන්නේ ...."

සුනිල් පෙරේරා ලෙස ප්‍රසිද්ධ අයිවර් සිල්වෙස්ටර් සුනිල් පෙරේරා යනු ශ්‍රී ලාංකේය සංගීත ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ සැබෑ ප්‍රවීණයෙකු වූ අතර කලාකරුවන් හා රසිකයන් අතර බෙහෙවින් ආදරය කරන චරිතයක් විය.

සුනිල් පෙරේරා සහ ඔහුගේ සොහොයුරු පියල් පසුගිය දශක තුනක පමණ කාලය තුළ මෙරට විශාලතම සහ ඉතාමත් ප්‍රසිද්ධ සංගීත කණ්ඩායමක් වන ‘ජිප්සීස්’ හි කොටසක් වූ අතර විවිධ සංගීත ඇල්බම සහ මෙහි සහ විදේශයන්හි අලෙවි වූ ප්‍රසංගයන්ගෙන් සමන්විත විය.

1969 දී සුනිල් මහතා පාසලෙන් ඉවත් වූ විගස ඔහුගේ පියා වන ඇන්ටන් පෙරේරා විසින් නිර්මාණය කරන ලද ද ජිප්සීස් සංගීත කණ්ඩායමට ඔහුගේ සහෝදරයින් වන නිහාල්, ලාල්, නිමල්, පියල් සහ තවත් කිහිප දෙනෙකු සමඟ එකතු විය.

සුනිල් මහතා සහ ඔහුගේ සහෝදර පියල් පෙරේරා සමඟ සංගීත කණ්ඩායමේ ප්‍රධාන ගායකයා විය. 1972/1973 දී ‘අම්මා අම්මා මේ මට ’ සමඟින් ඔවුන්ගේ ප්‍රථම ජනප්‍රිය චිත්‍රපටය වූ ‘ලින්ඳංග සඟය’ තිරගත විය.

1980 දී ජිප්සීස් සිය පළමු කැසට් පටය නිකුත් කළේ ‘කුරුමිට්ටෝ’ ගීතයෙනි. ජිප්සීස් විසින් ගායනය කරන ලද අනෙකුත් ජනප්‍රිය ගීත අතරට ‘කඩපතකින්’, ‘ නොනේ මගේ මගේ සුදු නොනේ’ (1977), ‘ලූණු දෙහි’ (1987), ‘ඕයේ ඕජයේ’ (1989), ‘පිටි කොටපන් නොනේ’ සහ ‘සිග්නෝර්’ (1997) ඇතුළත් වේ.

සුනිල් මහතාගේ මෑතකාලීන කෘති අතර ‘I don’t konw why’ වැනි ජනප්‍රිය ගීත ඇතුළත් වන අතර එය හාස්‍යය තුළින් හුදෙක් සමාජ දේශපාලනික ගැටලු ඉස්මතු කර පෙන්වූ අතර 2017 වසරේ ‘කොත්තමල්ලි’ ගීතයද ඉතා ජනප්‍රිය විය . මහත්මා ගුණ ඇති, සංගීතකාරයා සිය ජීවන ගමන නිමකර අපට ආයුබෝවන් කියයි.

ඔබ පැතූ සුන්දර ලෝකය කෙසේ හෝ දකින්නට ඔබ දැරූ වෙහෙස සුළු පටු නොවේ. ඔබේ හඬ, ඔබේ වදන්, ඔබේ සිතැඟි මේ සමාජයට බර අවි මෙන් හැමදාම රැඳේවි.
