2026 අප්රේල් මාසයේ සිට විදුලි බිල වැඩිවීමක් – පරිභෝගික කාණ්ඩ අනුව වෙනස් ප්රතිශත
කොළඹ, 2026 මාර්තු 30 — ශ්රී ලංකා මහජන උපයෝගීතා කොමිෂන් සභාව (PUCSL) විසින් අනුමත කර ඇති නව විදුලි ගාස්තු සංශෝධනය අනුව, අප්රේල් 2026 සිට බලපැවැත්වෙන පරිදි ගෘහස්ථ පරිභෝගිකයන් සඳහා විදුලි බිල්පත්වල වැඩිවීම් කාණ්ඩ අනුව වෙනස් වනු ඇත.
නව ගාස්තු ව්යුහය අනුව:
මාසයකට 30 ඒකක දක්වා විදුලිය භාවිතා කරන අයගේ බිල 4.3%කින් වැඩි වේ.
31-60 ඒකක අතර භාවිතා කරන්නන්ට 6.9%ක වැඩිවීමක් එල්ල වේ.
61-90 ඒකක කාණ්ඩය සඳහා ද 6.9%ක ඉහළ නැංවීමක් සිදු වේ.
91-180 ඒකක අතර භාවිතා කරන්නන් සඳහා 7.2%ක වැඩිවීමක් ඇත.
180 ඒකක ඉක්මවා භාවිතා කරන බරපතල පරිභෝගිකයන්ට ඉහළම බලපෑම එල්ල වන අතර, ඔවුන්ගේ බිල 25%කින් ඉහළට යනු ඇත.
ලංකා විදුලිබල මණ්ඩලය (CEB) මෙම කාර්තුව සඳහා රුපියල් මිලියන 15.8ක පමණ ආදායම් හිඟයක් බලාපොරොත්තු වූ අතර, එම හිඟය පියවා ගැනීම සඳහා එකසර 13.56%ක ඉහළ නැංවීමක් ඉල්ලා සිටියේය. කෙසේ වෙතත්, අනුමත කළ ව්යුහය අනුව අඩු භාවිතා කරන අයට සැහැල්ලෙන් සහ ඉහළ භාවිතා කරන අයට බරපතල බලපෑමක් එල්ල වන ආකාරයට ගාස්තු සකස් කර ඇත.
මෙම සංශෝධනය බලශක්ති ඉතිරිකිරීම ප්රවර්ධනය කිරීමටත්, විදුලිබල මණ්ඩලයේ පිරිවැය ආවරණය කිරීමටත් උපකාරී වනු ඇතැයි අපේක්ෂා කෙරේ. ඉහළ භාවිතා කරන පවුල්වලට බිල අඩු කිරීම සඳහා විදුලිය ඉතිරි කිරීමට විශේෂයෙන් උපදෙස් දෙනු ලැබේ.
ගෘහස්ථ පරිභෝගිකයන්ට නිර්දේශ කෙරෙන්නේ තම මාසික විදුලි භාවිතය සම්බන්ධයෙන් සැලකිලිමත්ව සිටීමටයි.
PUCSL Approves Electricity Tariff Revision for April–June 2026
Colombo, March 30, 2026 — The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has approved a revision to electricity tariffs effective from April 2026, with varying percentage increases applied across different consumption blocks for domestic users.
According to the new tariff structure:
Consumers using up to 30 units per month will see their bill increase by 4.3%.
Those consuming between 31–60 units will face a 6.9% hike.
The 61–90 units block will also rise by 6.9%.
Users in the 91–180 units category will experience a 7.2% increase.
Heavy consumers using more than 180 units per month will be hit with the highest adjustment — a significant 25% increase.
The revision comes as the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) sought to address a projected revenue shortfall for the second quarter of 2026. While the CEB had initially proposed a uniform 13.56% increase across all categories, the approved structure applies differentiated rates, placing a heavier burden on high-usage households.
This adjustment aims to help recover costs while encouraging energy conservation among larger consumers. Officials have urged the public to manage their electricity usage efficiently to minimize the impact on their monthly bills.
Domestic consumers are advised to review their recent consumption patterns ahead of the new rates taking effect.

2026 වසරේ පළමු කාර්තුව තුළ ශ්රී ලංකාවට පැමිණි විදේශීය සංචාරකයින් සංඛ්යාව 700,000 සීමාව ඉක්මවා ගොස් ඇත. මෙහිදී මාර්තු මාසයේදී (මාර්තු 1 සිට 25 දක්වා කාලය තුළ) පමණක් සංචාරකයින් 151,693 දෙනෙකු මෙරටට පැමිණ ඇති අතර, ඉන් වැඩිම පිරිසක් පැමිණ ඇත්තේ ඉන්දියාවෙනි.

පළමු කාර්තුවේ මුළු සංඛ්යාව: 700,000 ට අධිකයි.
