Official page of LANKAQR Sri Lanka LANKAQR is a low-cost digital payment solution, which targets small and medium enterprises especially.
LANKAQR code was introduced by the CBSL together with licensed financial institutions and LankaClear (Pvt) Ltd with the aim of moving towards a less-cash society while increasing financial inclusion in Sri Lanka. LANKAQR enables customers to make payments, directly from their bank accounts to accounts of merchants or service providers, using payment apps of LANKAQR certified financial institutions. Customers will not be charged for using LANKAQR-based payments.

The National QR Payment Promotion Initiative was officially launched at the Presidential Secretariat — a significant step towards accelerating a cash-lite economy.
This is more than just a technology rollout. It is about:
• Driving digital payments adoption across the country with P2P and P2M.
• Bringing the informal economy into the formal ecosystem
• Enabling a more inclusive and efficient financial system.
As we work towards building a USD 15Bn digital economy, initiatives like this will play a critical role — especially in empowering SMEs, agriculture, and everyday transactions.
Great to see strong alignment across CBSL, banks, FIs, telcos, and the government to take this forward.
Let’s collectively drive adoption and make QR a truly simple, accessible, and everyday payment method for all.
