✓1839දී තියඩෝර් ෂ්වාන් විසින් සතුන්ගේ මූලික ඒකකය සෛලය බවත්,
ප්රකාශ කරන ලදී.
ඒ අනුව එම කරුණු උපයෝගී කර ගනිමින් සෛල වාදය ගොඩනගන ලදී.එහි මූලික කරුණු තුනකි.
*ජීවීන්ගේ මූලික ව්යූහමය සහ කෘත්යමය ඒකකය සෛලය යි.
*සියලුම ජීවීන් එක සෛලයකින් හෝ සෛල කිහිපයකින් සෑදී ඇත.
*සියලුම සෛල ඇති වන්නේ කලින් පැවති සෛල විභාජනයෙනි.
