📣 Great news for the English-speaking Caribbean ‼️

Last week, new additions were approved for 🇺🇳🏛 UNESCO’s Memory of the World Regional Register for Latin America and the Caribbean,  an important program that protects and promotes access to documentary heritage of important historical significance in the region, at risk from disasters, conflict, looting, and/or loss.

✨ Two remarkable inscriptions come from the English-speaking Caribbean:

📚 The Personal Home Library of Sir Derek Walcott, Nobel Laureate for Literature, preserved at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College in Saint Lucia 🇱🇨

📝 The Manuscripts of Earl Lovelace, a well-known journalist and novelist, archived at The University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹
