The LAU-Louis Cardahi Foundation cordially invites you to watch the film Words Left Unspoken, in collaboration with Beirut Art Film Festival (BAFF).
On Friday, April 24, at 5:30 pm
Words Left Unspoken is a captivating documentary telling the life story of international public speaker and stand-up comedian Joze Piranian, who spent the first 20 years of his life avoiding speaking at all costs. We follow his reckoning with his severe stutter and journey of self-love.
From baring his soul on stage to becoming a global voice for resilience and inclusion, Joze embarks on a poetic journey of healing. Returning to Lebanon, he confronts silences of the past and opens long-closed conversations with his family. The film delicately explores invisible disability, identity, masculinity, and the unspoken weight of generational trauma.
Josiane Blanc is a writer, director, and producer for film and television whose work explores themes of social justice. Named one of Playback Magazine’s 10 Talents to Watch, she has created acclaimed projects including the documentaries Tales of Ordinary Fatphobia, Loud & Here, Words Left Unspoken, and the short-form series Ainsi va Manu/Hogtown. Her work has earned over 50 nominations and 20 awards worldwide, including Best Film, Best Screenplay, and five Best Director honors.
Please reserve your place at LAU-Louis Cardahi Foundation before Thursday, April 23.

The LAU-Louis Cardahi Foundation held the screening of the film Hima Anfeh, in collaboration with Beirut Art Film Festival (BAFF).
The screening was held in the presence of the directors of the movie, Pascale Feghali and Gabriel Ferneini, followed by Q&A after the film.
Hima Anfeh, Lebanon, 2025, Pascale Feghali & Gabriel Ferneini, 56’, Arabic with English subtitles.
Anfeh is a village on the northern coast of Lebanon, renowned for its archaeological site, salt marshes, and olive oil production. The Hima conservation model, introduced by the Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL), evolved into a community-driven initiative through the municipal council, dedicated to safeguarding this heritage, guided by an archaeologist and the active engagement of local residents. Adopting a visual anthropology approach, the film respects the rhythm of the protagonists and the way they choose to present themselves. It invites us to spend a whole day, from dawn to sunset, meeting the various individuals behind this initiative. Through their stories, the film takes us on a journey where imagination and reality intertwine.
