- I’ve always been an outdoor enthusiast. I used to spend most of my time in outdoor hobbies and sports, until I decided to take it to the next level and get into Rock Climbing. I’ve been climbing for nearly 4 years.

- Climbing to me is simply a life philosophy. I always try to relate my everyday life with my climbing life. From the fails I encounter to the tops and successes I reach.

- U ROCK has always been and always will be my second family, the home, and the community that kept me going and hustling in this amazing sport.

- The only tip I give to new climbers is, climb, climb, climb and keep on climbing. Don’t be afraid of failure, embrace it, enjoy it and learn from it. My favorite quote: β€œwe understand brightness by it’s contrast to dimness, and happiness by it’s relationship to sadness”.

- My friend was looking for a climbing partner and suggested I gave it a try. I’ve been climbing at U ROCK since October 2020.

- Climbing helped me grow on so many different levels. It taught me how to push my limits, to always aim higher, to trust my partner and most importantly myself. This mental and physical challenge is the perfect way to disconnect from the world and focus on your goals.

- The U ROCK family is one of the reasons that I love climbing so much. The staff and the other climbers are always ready to motivate and help in any way possible. I have met great friends there and I am very grateful to be part of this community.

- A tip for new climbers would be: "Don’t be intimidated, focus on yourself and enjoy the process."

Using Auto Belays, does not only improves the climbers’ experience, it helps to mitigate risks at our facility too.

Four simple steps every climber β€” no matter their level of expertise β€” should take before climbing on a TRUBLUE Auto Belay.

1️⃣- CHECK FOR PROPER RETRACTION OF AUTO BELAY WEBBING

2️⃣- OPEN CARABINER AND ATTACH TO BELAY LOOP

3️⃣- ENSURE CARABINER IS LOCKED AND UNOBSTRUCTED

4️⃣- PERFORM FINAL SAFETY CHECK

⚠️That said, if you’re a new climber looking for guidance, please don’t hesitate to ask our staff on duty for a quick lesson! πŸ˜‰

- I got into climbing about a year and a half ago. I saw a couple of people that I know doing it and thought it’d be a cool sport.
Either way, I needed a change in my life, and little did I know that it would have a severe impact on my day to day. I talked to one of my close friends Adel Khneisser and he decided to give me a crash course on climbing.

- Climbing does not solely train you physically, it’s the mental part that I love about it. It has helped my mental health in so many ways, I’m very grateful to have been introduced to this sport. From first-hand experience, whenever someone says that: β€œIt’s all in your head” they’re absolutely right. Climbing stimulates the mind, it relies on you the individual to make a choice, to commit to conquering whatever fear they have, and to push themselves to excellence. You teach yourself how to disassociate from any distraction and to focus on what matters at the moment.

- In all honesty, U ROCK propelled my climbing abilities to new levels, and it’s all because of the beautiful community that it caters to. It’s not only a place to train but it’s also a great place to gain some knowledge because everyone wants to see you succeed and send your projects.

- Be ready to fail and fail and fail. Set a goal in mind and pursue it till you see it thru and most importantly be open to people helping you out. And GO Outdoors you’ll get a sense of how fun it gets.

Climbing has always been tied to environmental ethics, but if climbers want to expand that ethic beyond not trampling plants at the crag, then asking about the environmental impact of our gear is a good place to start.
