Craving green plums (Janerek)??
During this confinement you’ll be more tempted to eat them! 🙈 But with all hard food, wrong eating habits can cause some discomfort and put you at risk of breaking your brackets or wires. This will require unscheduled trips to your orthodontist (bad timing!😅😆). Don’t worry! your orthodontic treatment will all be worth it in the end! But in the meantime you'll want to pay special attention to what you eat.
⚠️Avoid hard and sticky food ⚠️
Even healthy fruits and vegetables that require biting with the front teeth, like 🟢Janerek🟢may bend wires and pop off brackets⚠️
All of this is not to say you should forego these fruits and vegetables completely, but you might have to go about eating them differently. Here's how: Cut or slice fruits or raw veggies into small pieces and chew carefully with your posterior teeth, or cook veggies to soften them.
The question at the top of the list of our adult patients is often which type of appliance to use to correct their orthodontic problem – vs ? How do they decide?
First, keep in mind that there is not a single “right way” for orthodontic treatment to be done. An accurate diagnosis is the starting place, and that’s something that orthodontists are especially well-trained at, after obtaining orthodontic records (x-rays, photos and models). The orthodontist pinpoints the problem, and then crafts a customized correction.
One appliance is not better than another. What is used for an individual’s correction will be based on the goals of treatment, and the patient’s lifestyle needs!

How many of you wish that this is possible?🙈😂
⚠️Braces have countless tiny spaces to trap food, and this trapped food causes plaque, which can lead to many other dental problems. Because of this, it's very important to brush your teeth after every meal (snacks count, too🙄), to rinse with mouthwash, and to floss at least once a day. This may seem tedious or excessive, but neglecting your oral hygiene can lead to serious oral health problems, force you to spend additional time in braces, or cause unsightly staining on your teeth!

How beautiful are these appliances totally personalized by our little patients? 😍
The most important part in the Interceptive phase* is patient’s compliance. Letting children choose the color and style of their appliance will help them familiarize with it and love to wear it! 🥰⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
*The American Association of Orthodontics recommends children have an evaluation by an orthodontist by the age of 7. Many children require the guidance of dental and facial development as a first phase of orthodontic treatment, commonly called Phase 1 or Interceptive Orthodontics. If indicated, this is typically attempted in the mixed dentition or very early in the permanent dentition. *

“Is my child’s speech normal? Should I be able to understand him better?“ 🤷🏻♀️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here is the answer to one of the most frequently asked question! 🔝
Braces feeling painful? Here’s a hack to help! 🙌🏻🥰
Break a small amount of wax from the stick and roll it in your fingers to warm and soften it. Then firmly press the softened wax against the area of the braces that is protruding or broken. Once placed, it will cover sharp edges and stabilize loose pieces of wire or bracket!
