Craftsmanship is often associated with making.
In reality, it begins with measuring, understanding, and respecting the material before a single cut is made.
How many hands does it take to make a BAAL product?
The finished object tells only part of the story.
Before a BAAL piece reaches a guestroom, it passes through dozens of skilled hands - designers, artisans, pattern makers, leather specialists, metalworkers, and finishers - each contributing knowledge, precision, and care that may never be seen, but is always felt.
This is the invisible side of craftsmanship. The people behind every piece.

Miraval has always been about a different kind of luxury.
Its first destination outside the United States arrives on Shura Island, where the vast stillness of the Saudi desert meets one of the world's most pristine marine environments. Here, wellness is not treated as an amenity, but as a way of experiencing place-through light, materiality, movement, and moments of quiet reflection.
For BAAL, the design journey began with the landscape itself. The bespoke collections developed throughout the property were informed by the same dialogue between earth and water-pairing the structure and warmth of timber with the lightness and texture of woven elements.
The result is a collection of pieces that feel inseparable from their surroundings, quietly reinforcing the atmosphere of the resort without ever demanding attention.

Designing for a peninsula means designing for the moving sea; a year since its opening, our bespoke collections for continue to reflect the effortless fluidity of the superyacht lifestyle.
Long before Dubai’s skyline emerged from the coastline, the city’s relationship with the sea shaped its identity - through pearl diving, fishing routes, wooden dhows, and life lived along the Gulf. At Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, this maritime heritage is reinterpreted through a quieter and more contemporary lens, where architecture, light, and materiality move with the rhythm of the water itself.
Designed as an extension of the superyacht lifestyle envisioned by Shaun Killa and Tristan Auer, the property balances the energy of Dubai’s coastline with the intimacy of a highly curated residential retreat. Warm ivories, satin brass, open-grain woods, and low-sheen textures create spaces that feel composed, understated, and deeply connected to their surroundings.
BAAL led the bespoke design and development of guestroom leather collections across the property, extending into public areas, pool environments, and tailored hospitality touchpoints throughout the resort. From leather desk sets and vanity accessories to custom metalwork and marble amenities, each piece was approached as part of the architectural rhythm itself - echoing the movement of sand, sea, and filtered Gulf light through restrained forms and material depth.

Luxury packaging is no longer defined by excess, but by intention.
As material innovation reshapes the possibilities of sustainable design, packaging is becoming more than protection or presentation - it is often the first tactile expression of a brand’s values, long before the product itself is experienced.
At BAAL, this evolution continues to shape how we approach packaging development: through refined construction, natural textures, advanced paper materials, and quieter forms of distinction.
Alongside this ongoing material research, our continuous efforts toward internationally recognized sustainability standards, including EcoVadis certification, reflect a broader commitment to building luxury experiences with greater responsibility and long-term impact.

Budapest carries grandeur differently.
Last week marked the opening of .budapest, set within the historic Klotild Palace at the gateway to Elisabeth Bridge.
Long woven into the city’s cultural and architectural identity, the palace now enters a new chapter through a hospitality experience that balances historic European grandeur with the intimacy and warmth of contemporary luxury living.
For BAAL, contributing to The St. Regis Budapest meant understanding not only the visual language of the property, but also the sensibility behind the St. Regis experience itself, shaped by an uncompromising attention to detail refined across some of the world’s most iconic addresses.
This understanding informed the bespoke guestroom collections developed throughout the hotel. Curved silhouettes, carefully selected materials, and custom debossing and finishing techniques were approached as natural extensions of the interiors themselves, echoing the movement of the Danube through softened edges, tactile textures, and fluid blue-and-silver tonalities.
The most rewarding part of the journey was collaborating with the exceptional team behind this project, whose care, precision, and shared commitment to excellence shaped every stage of the project.
