Behind the sound at , a new venue by at 25 Jump Street in One Central, Dubai.
The project started with a fully sound-isolated ceiling to protect the offices above.
Inside the venue, a perforated architectural ceiling with integrated absorbers was designed to control reflections and reduce excess energy, creating a balanced and comfortable acoustic environment throughout the space.
The sound system is built around a setup, with S10 full-range loudspeakers and B12 subwoofers, powered by .official amplification and managed through a Jupiter processor.
The goal is not to make sound noticeable.
It is to make it feel right.

At , we were on-site fine-tuning every detail to make sure the space sounded exactly as it should: balanced, intimate, and true to its atmosphere.
Following our material and CNC testing, we documented the full enclosure manufacturing workflow with our carpentry partner.
From preparing and machining the individual wooden parts, to assembly, surface preparation and lacquer finishing, this reel captures the complete A-to-Z process behind our loudspeaker body.
This phase is about validating repeatability, tolerances and finish consistency of our first round of research and development before moving into extended testing and pilot production.

We have been testing different wood species as part of our loudspeaker enclosure development, including mahogany, birch, oak and walnut, in both lacquered and painted versions.
Each material behaves differently when machined, assembled and finished, and each introduces its own constraints on geometry, tolerances and surface quality.
This clip captures one of those tests: CNC machining mahogany to evaluate precision, edge behaviour and structural consistency on our enclosure geometry.

A comfortable dining experience depends on a sound environment that’s carefully shaped.
At One Life Kitchen and Café, the brief was to reduce excess acoustic energy in the space while preserving its openness and atmosphere. Working closely with the team, we introduced targeted internal acoustic treatment across the whole ceiling to improve clarity and balance, so conversation flows naturally without being overwhelmed by background noise.
One of the most common indicators of an acoustic issue in hospitality spaces is simple: when guests have to lean into tables to be able to communicate, then the room is doing too much work.
The goal is not to make sound noticeable.
It is to make it feel right.
We’ve been exploring additive manufacturing as a way to rethink how enclosures are designed and built.
3D printing is allowing us to prototype complex geometries, test internal volumes, and iterate quickly without being constrained by traditional manufacturing methods.
This is not about novelty.
It’s about understanding how form influences sound, and what that can enable.

Why the name 21dB?
The name traces back to a moment in an anechoic chamber at the University of Salford, where Fouad recorded the sound of his whisper, measured at 21 decibels.
21dB became a symbol of how quiet sound can be and how deeply it can still be felt.
