The Beirut explosion has left behind destroyed homes, businesses and families. “Revive Mar Mikhael Beirut” is an initiative launched by Daniel Sadek and Rachel Semaan in collaboration with Local Host - Lebanon, a startup supported by the iSME Programme.

In 2018, the iSME programme co-funded Reef Kinetics, an automated device that aims to simplify water testing and aquarium maintenance.

So far, the startup has employed a team of 14 engineers and designers and actively supplies its solution across the world.

It all began out of passion for aquariums and reefing, when co-founder Rabih Krayem and a team of engineers and designers created Reef Kinetics, an innovative, automated water testing device.

FabricAID provided more than 20,000 people access to clean and affordable second hand clothing. So far it has sorted nearly 120,000 kilos of donated clothes and sold 90,000 items.

Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, Synkers, in collaboration with the World Bank and local partners, introduced free online education for all. The initiative offers 1000 live online courses in Math, SAT and English to highschool students in the MENA region.
