The ICOM LEBANON committee was founded in 2003 by Leila Badre, Sylvia Ajamian, Suzy Hakimian, Lutfallah Melki, Frederic Al Husseini and Levon Nordiguian.
This page is about the Lebanese National Committee of the International Council Of Museums (ICOM) and is dedicated to the development of museums and the museum profession in Lebanon. ICOM LEBANON only includes Lebanese museums that meet the definition established by ICOM international. Some of ICOM Lebanon objectives are to:
Be the main link between the international committee and its members in L
ebanon. Encourage the workers in the museum field to join the international committees. Manage the international committee of museum interests in Lebanon. Take part in the diffusion of ICOM objectives and projects it is carrying out, among workers in the museums field in Lebanon and abroad. Its national executive bureau is made up of 7 members who are elected for a 3-year term. The actual members are (2021-2024):

The other members of ICOM Lebanon include all members of the association. They are currently 61 in number and are divided as follows:
46 ACTIVE members - eligible and voting, includes individual, institutional and retired members.
15 NON-ACTIVE members - neither eligible nor voting, includes supporting members and students. A non-profit association, ICOM Lebanon is solely financed by the contributions paid by its members. Any person or museum wishing to become a member of ICOM Lebanon is called upon to apply for membership with the Secretariat of the ICOM LEBANON Committee, by sending a request accompanied by a CV to the following email address: [email protected]
The Executive Board will consider applications for membership, accept or reject them, in accordance with ICOM's conditions of membership and assign the category of membership according to the status of the person or the museum.
