As part of YAZCONSULT's commitment to upholding the banner of human rights and within the framework of the International Day for the Abolition of Capital Punishment, YAZCONSULT's lawyer Alfred Geha took part in a seminar entitled Capital Punishment: Legal, Practical and Evoluntionary Perspectives, organized by the Lebanese Association for Civil Rights, the Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty and the Norwegian Foreign Ministry.

In his intervention, Mr. Geha emphasized:
1- The need to revisit the capital punishment laws and legal proceedings both in Lebanon and abroad, citing the necessity for a corrective and restorative approach
2- The adjustment of crime categories in the penal code into misdemeanor or penalty
3. Adjustment of the law of penal courts to augment the protection of the victim
4 - Proposing alternative corrective measures to the existent ones
