!!! Presidential elections !!! 2016-2017 academic year !!!
As this academic year is coming to its end, it is time to choose a new leader of Math Club for the next one! The next president will be elected among self-nominated candidates through a voting process.
If you are passionate about mathematics and ready to lead the club, you are welcome to propose your candidacy. Please be aware that being a president will require you to devote a considerable amount of time, so make sure you will manage it.
Everybody could apply for this position as long as you have a great interest in mathematics and willingness to contribute to mathematics development in NU.
Candidates must write a statement of interest explaining why you want to be a president and what are you going to do as a president of Math Club. The statement should be sent to [email protected] by 18:00, April 20. It will be shared with Math Club members before the election day. It would be great if you include your photo to the statement, but it is up to you.
The election will be held during this semester’s last Math Club meeting (April 25, 6pm). Before the voting procedure, candidates will give a speech (around 3 minutes, or more if you need) presenting their program. Anybody from the audience could ask questions from candidates after a speech. Attendance to that meeting is highly desirable for Math Club members.
So, if you want to become a president, here is what you need to do:
1) Send a statement of interest by 18:00, April 20 to [email protected];
2) Prepare a short speech about your program;
3) Come on April 25 and give a speech.
Looking forward your applications!

we can sing you a song that's completely irrational,

Happi Pi Day!!!
Today we celebrated our favorite math feast! Starting with a presentation of Ivan Nieven's proof of irrationality of Pi and discussing a solution to the integral which we announced earlier, we moved to pies :)
