Grand Steppe Auto Mongol Rally 2016
Nick, Jamie and Carl are driving from London to Mongolia in a very inappropriate car. Now we’re going to drive it to Mongolia. WHAT? The cardinal rules are:
1.
Last week I bought a 15 year old, very poorly maintained, 1.1 litre hatch-back from a nice man named Phil and his wife Wendy in south-east suburban London. We did it!
49 days, 20 countries, 8 time zones, 2 destroyed hotel rooms, $119 in bribes paid, 1 active war-zone and over 16,000 km of driving in an easterly direction.
Thank you to everyone we met along the way, thank you to everyone who followed along on Facebook and thank you to everyone who supported our efforts in raising money for charity.
We'll continue to upload photos from our trip as we got through the (thousands!) we have taken on various cameras and devices.
Thanks for following along!

Hello from Almaty, Kazakhstan!
We spent yesterday getting our car fixed up at "DRIVE", Almaty Car Citi, and now it's back in perfect working order.
Almaty Car Citi is an incredible Mecca of Mechanics- thousands of shops and hundreds of workshops doing incredible work. All of our car issues were solved. When our mechanic couldn't find Citroen Saxo shock absorbers, he just got his mate to machine some new ones.
We're now heading north through Kazakstan, looking to reach Barnaul, Russia in a couple of days time.
