Cayman is a small place. That means when someone is struggling, a parent, a caregiver, a child trying to find their footing, chances are you know them or know someone who knows them. That's what sat with us after this morning's Making Waves breakfast with Inclusion Cayman that included powerful stories of perseverance and the need for community support.
We are proud to be a small part in the bigger picture they're building. Thank you for a wonderful morning!
ππ°πΎ"On islands founded upon the seas, we believe swimming is a fundamental right."
In partnership with the programme, our Community Life pillar lead Ryan, has been on the ground (and in the water!) supporting the delivery of lessons at Cayman's public schools, for over a year.
Providing guidance to session leads, he's worked alongside instructors, to ensure every child has the support they need to get in the water: whether that's building confidence, developing water safety skills, or perhaps discovering a love of swimming they never knew they had.
Organised swim lessons reduce the likelihood of drowning in young children by 88%, and for kids on an island where the sea is never far away, that's not just a skill. It's a lifeline.

Did you catch us at the Youth Asset Fair? The event was designed to help young people explore developmental assets spanning empowerment, positive values, social competencies and positive identity β‘οΈ All areas that sit at the very heart of what our team does every day!
Seeing students engaging with organisations, mentors and each other was a genuine reminder of what community can look like when everyone shows up. For us, the day was spent connecting with students, handing out sensory tools, and having meaningful conversations with educators and stakeholders who are committed to building a more inclusive Cayman.
π Congratulations to Cayman Islands Youth Development Consortium on 20 years of championing youth development!

π Graduation is something to celebrate, but what comes next can also feel daunting.
Our Community Pillar lead Ryan Mushin was at Lighthouse School for a very special transition morning, supporting students and their parents and guardians who will be graduating in June 2026 and beginning to think about life beyond school.
Leaving a familiar environment is a big moment for any young person. For students with disabilities and their families, that next chapter can feel particularly uncertain. What does the path forward look like? What support is available? What opportunities are out there?
That's exactly why we were in the room: to help families start answering those questions with confidence rather than anxiety.
To every student graduating from Lighthouse School this June, this is not an ending. It's a beginning. And you don't have to step into it alone.

To the parent who's noticed something and isn't quite sure what to do next, this one is for you. π
Maybe it started with a feeling. Something your child does, or doesn't do, that sits differently from other children their age. A word from a teacher. A moment that made you pause. And now you're carrying a quiet worry, not knowing where to turn or whether you're overreacting.
You're not overreacting. And you don't have to figure this out alone.
For many families, the journey of discovering that a child has a disability or additional needs begins not with a diagnosis, but with a feeling. That feeling is valid, and it's worth listening to.
Here's what we'd suggest as a first step:
π¬ Talk to your child's teacher. They spend a lot of time with your child and can share what they observe in the classroom environment.
π©Ί Speak to your GP or paediatrician. A medical professional can help rule things out, make referrals, and start any assessment process.
π€ And reach out to us. At Inclusion Cayman, we'v walked alongside hundreds of families from the very beginning: before the diagnosis, during the process, and long after. We can help you understand your options, connect you with the right specialists, and make sure your child has every opportunity to thrive in education, community life, and beyond.
You don't need to have all the answers to pick up the phone. We'll help you find them.

π€Over halfway there! and every sign tells us this cohort is something special.
This week, our latest ASL (American Sign Language) cohort hits the midpoint of their programme, and we couldn't be prouder of how far they've already come.
Learning American Sign Language is more than picking up a new skill. On an island like ours, it's an act of community. It says: I see you. I want to communicate with you. You belong here.
And none of it would be possible without our incredible instructors like Ms. Carla, who give their time freely to teach these classes. Their dedication, passion, and patience are the heartbeat of this programme. We are so grateful. π

Creating workplaces where every mind thrives - across the region. π π€π§βπ»
We were recently proud to facilitate a virtual workshop with the Walkers DEI Americas teams, bringing together colleagues across the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands, and Bermuda for a powerful session on neurodiversity, accessibility, and inclusive employment.
Our very own Delroy Watson led the conversation, exploring what it really means to build workplaces that work for everyone, and how organisations can take practical steps to get there.
π‘ Want to bring this conversation to your team? We offer free workshops, in person or virtual, for teams and offices of any size. Get in touch with us at [email protected] to learn more!
