Hard to believe I had the chance to photograph this stunning Red Cardinal in Maui, Hawaii! I used to see these bright beauties back in Quebec, Canada—but never thought I’d encounter one this far from their more familiar range.
The distance between Quebec and Maui is over 7,000 kilometers, yet here they are, thriving in a tropical paradise. Nature always finds a way to amaze. Seeing something so familiar in such an unexpected place made the moment even more special.
Just a reminder that the world is full of beautiful surprises—if you’re paying attention.
