Apple TV+‘s Widow’s Bay and The Pitt emerged as the biggest winners at the 78th Emmy Awards on Monday, with Widow’s Bay setting a new record for the most awards won by a comedy series in a single year.

The horror-comedy claimed 14 awards, including best comedy series, while stars Matthew Rhys, Kate O’Flynn and Stephen Root took acting honors. Jean Smart won best comedy actress for Hacks, earning her eighth acting Emmy and tying the all-time acting record.

The Pitt secured its second consecutive best drama series award, finishing the night with six trophies. Star Noah Wyle won best drama actor for the second straight year, while Rhea Seehorn was named best drama actress for Pluribus.

Elsewhere, HBO Max’s DTF St Louis won best limited series, while Sally Field was honored as best actress in a limited series for Remarkably Bright Creatures. The ceremony, hosted by Mariska Hargitay, also featured tributes to late stars including country music icon Dolly Parton and filmmaker Rob Reiner.

The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said on Tuesday that 13 civilians were injured while seven houses were damaged in ballistic missile and drone attacks by the Houthi militia on the Saudi cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha and Taif on Monday.

"The Coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen affirmed on Monday that the terrorist Houthi militia continues its deliberate and criminal assaults against civilian objects and civilians in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," the coalition's spokesman Brig Gen Turki Al-Maliki said in a statement.

"The continuation of these deliberate and repeated attacks demonstrates the terrorist Houthi militia's approach and extremist ideology of escalation and targeting civilian objects and civilians," he said.

"The militia carried out on Monday attacks on the cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha and Taif using a number of ballistic missiles and drones that caused some moderate and minor injuries to 13 civilians and damage to seven residential houses and two vehicles," he noted.

"The joint command of the coalition will responsibly and decisively deal with these attacks to preserve the Kingdom's sovereignty, civilians and civilian objects from these treacherous assaults, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and the principle of self-defense, international law," he affirmed.

"The command will also take all operating procedures to deter Houthis and confront their extremist and hostile approach," he stated.

The tour promoter confirmed Macklemore's exit to save the tour from cancellation.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Macklemore confirmed his removal following a week of "difficult conversations" with Sheeran, whom he called a "brother." He acknowledged Sheeran was put in a difficult position by the stadium owners but stated that his friendship couldn't change his responsibility to speak out.

He added that the true victims are the Palestinian people, not the artists, and concluded: "If those words cost me the stage, while turning the conversation back to Palestine, then it was the most successful tour I've ever been on."
