KUWAIT CITY, June 17: Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan represented the State of Kuwait at the 29th
extraordinary meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministers of Transport and Communications
Committee, held virtually under the chairmanship of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The meeting focused on ways to enhance logistical integration and expedite the implementation of the GCC
Railway project. The committee talked about the directives issued by the leaders of GCC states, who
emphasized the importance of the relevant ministerial panels to continue their intensive meetings in order to
closely monitor developments and challenges and submit recommendations to strengthen Gulf cooperation.
The committee affirmed the importance of the GCC Railway project as a major initiative that will reinforce
economic and logistical connectivity among member states, reduce reliance on trucks, open new avenues for connecting GCC countries to the regional and international markets, and provide more efficient and flexible
options for transporting goods and commodities among member states.
The GCC Secretariat General reviewed the procedures and executive steps taken to implement the decision of
the Supreme Council on conducting a comprehensive study to expand logistical integration and expedite the
completion of the Gulf Railway project. It also presented a report on the progress in this area and the efforts
exerted, in coordination with the relevant authorities in the member states. The committee commended the
Secretariat for conducting the necessary studies and the steps taken to support the Gulf logistical integration
project and accelerate the connection of member states through the railway network..

KUWAIT CITY, June 17: EgyptAir and Flydubai have resumed flight operations from Kuwait International
Airport’s Passenger Terminal 4 (T4), marking the beginning of a phased plan to restore air traffic
operations after a temporary reduction in services. Also, Air Arabia, Middle East Airlines, Syrian Airlines and
Emirates are commencing flights from 18th June. on 19th Gulf Air will operate one flight, while Nile Air and
Yemenia are scheduled to operate two flights on Saturday.

A total of 422 passengers departed through Terminal T4 on the first day of operations for the two flights,
including 242 passengers aboard an EgyptAir service and 180 passengers on a FlyDubai flight.
Kuwait authorities had announced the gradual resumption of limited flights through T4 for Gulf, Arab and
international airlines as part of an operational plan designed to expand travel services while ensuring safety
and security measures remain in place. Under the first phase of the plan, flights will operate daily from 4:00 am
to 10:00 pm, with participating airlines initially allowed to operate one flight each as operations are gradually
increased.

The plan includes the activation of 50 check-in counters, full operation of immigration and security screening
facilities, and coordination with ground handling companies to ensure smooth passenger movement. Air cargo
and private aviation operations will continue without interruption. Passengers have been advised to arrive at
the airport at least three hours before departure and to confirm flight schedules directly with their airlines
before traveling. Authorities also requested passengers avoid bringing unnecessary companions to the
terminal to help reduce congestion. The move is aimed at meeting passenger demand, expanding travel
options for citizens and residents, and supporting the gradual normalization of aviation services while
maintaining strict safety standards.

KUWAIT CITY, Jun 15: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (Directorate General of Civil Aviation
(Kuwait)) announced on Sunday the resumption of limited operations by Gulf, Arab, and foreign airlines
through Terminal 4 (T4) at Kuwait International Airport.
In a statement carried by the Kuwait News Agency (Kuwait News Agency), the authority said the decision
reflects a “national responsibility” aimed at supporting passengers, ensuring continuity of airline services, and
maintaining regular civil aviation operations.
The DGCA said it will coordinate with airlines wishing to operate from Terminal 4 to finalize flight schedules and
operational arrangements.
It added that the move responds to the needs of travelers and is intended to provide more options for citizens
and residents travelling to and from Kuwait. Passengers were urged to check flight updates and confirm
schedules with their respective airlines before heading to the airport.
The authority also stressed that it is working closely with relevant agencies to ensure the highest standards of
safety, security, and operational efficiency.

KUWAIT CITY, Jun 11: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation announced the resumption of normal air
traffic in Kuwaiti airspace following the easing of conditions that had previously necessitated
precautionary measures.
In a statement, the authority confirmed that it continues to closely monitor the situation around the clock in
coordination with relevant local and international bodies to ensure the highest levels of aviation safety and
security.

The Directorate also confirmed that operations at Kuwait International Airport have returned to normal, with
flights resuming according to approved schedules. It added that monitoring and evaluation of developments
will continue, with immediate action to be taken if required.

KUWAIT CITY, Jun 3: The Ministry of Defense announced that the armed forces monitored and dealt with 13
ballistic missiles and 17 hostile drones that entered Kuwaiti airspace over several residential areas,
resulting in the fall of some shrapnel.
In a media briefing, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General Saud Al-Otayan, said
the developments come in the context of what he described as “sinful Iranian aggressions” against the State of
Kuwait. He added that the armed forces continue to carry out operational measures to counter threats and
protect national security.

KUWAIT CITY, May 21: The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced on Thursday the gradual
resumption of flights operated by Arab and international airlines at Kuwait International Airport, Terminal
1, starting June 1, marking a significant step toward restoring full air traffic operations following recent
disruptions.

Chairman of the Authority, Sheikh Engineer Hamoud Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, expressed
profound gratitude and appreciation to His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah; His
Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah; and His Highness the Prime Minister,
Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, for their unwavering support of the civil aviation sector. He
highlighted that the leadership’s backing has been instrumental in advancing the Authority’s vision to
modernize Kuwait’s air transport infrastructure.

Sheikh Hamoud explained that the resumption of flights will be carried out in phases under a carefully
structured operational plan designed to ensure technical and logistical readiness. The plan prioritizes the
smooth flow of air traffic and the highest standards of passenger safety, with continuous evaluations at each
stage until full operational capacity is achieved.

He noted that the return of Arab and foreign carriers follows the completion of extensive repair and
development works across key operational facilities at Kuwait International Airport. These upgrades include
enhancements to systems, infrastructure, and overall operational readiness.
The Chairman further emphasized that all necessary improvements have been completed at the main
passenger terminal (T1), which now features a renewed design aimed at improving passenger flow while
maintaining top-tier security and safety standards.

KUWAIT CITY, May 20: Firefighting teams managed to bring a house fire under control in the Al-Jleeb area
on Wednesday afternoon, the Kuwait Fire Force said in a statement.

Crews from the Sumood Central and Al-Aridiya fire stations responded to the incident and began efforts to
extinguish the blaze and contain its spread.
Authorities confirmed that the fire resulted in the deaths of five people. The scene was later handed over to the

KUWAIT CITY, May 11: Assistant Director General for Traffic Regulation at the General Traffic Department in
the Interior Ministry Brigadier General Bader Al-Qattan revealed that 8,938 traffic violation citations were
issued to pedestrians crossing outside the pedestrian lane from April 22, 2025 to April 22, 2026. Speaking at the
conclusion of the 2026 Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Traffic Week, with the theme “Cross Safely,” Al-Qattan
explained the slogan conveys a message on the importance of commitment, attentiveness and responsibility
among the drivers and pedestrians.
He asserted that road safety starts with individual awareness and ends in societal security. He added the
General Traffic Department is keen on raising traffic awareness and promoting respect for traffic regulations
