Mount Karthala

Thousands of tourists visit the capital of Comoros as it abounds in tourist attractions. One of the attractions in Comoros is Mount Karthala, which is an active volcano. Mount Karthala
is the highest point in Comoros and lies in the island of Grand Comore.
This active volcano erupted about twenty times since nineteenth
century. The last eruption took place in the year of 2006. The eruptions
however did not bring the massive destruction in the islands. The
volcanic eruption of 2005 made 40 thousand people evacuate their
residence.

Nzwani

Is a picturesque island on the Indian Ocean. This island, like the other
archipelago of islands in Comoros, arose because of the volcanic
activity. By the French, this island is also referred to as Anjouan. Due
to the picturesque quality of the island, Nzwani is also named as the pearl of Indian Ocean. This island has proved to be one of the major tourist destinations of Comoros.

The main international airport of Comoros lies in the capital city of

The principal attraction of the island of Ngazidja in Comoros is the active volcanic mountain known as Mount Karthala. The crater of the mountain is one of largest in the world. The crater measures approximately a mile in diameter. The volcano is very much active. The most recent volcanic eruption occurred in 2003. Mount Karthala of Ngazidja Island in Comoros has the distinction of being the highest point in the Indian Ocean archipelago. The peak of the mountain is calculated to be 2361 meters above sea level.

The construction of the dhow is unique in its Arabic engineering design. The Nouvelle Mosquee de Vendredi is located in the biggest island of the archipelago-Ngazidja. Ngazidja is also known as Grande Comore. The Nouvelle Mosquee de Vendredi in Comoros is situated in the country capital Moroni. The Vendredi mosque is used to hold daily prayers. Visitors to the mosque may enter the mosque in order to observe the internal architecture of the structure. They are advised to follow all the norms that are required to enter the holy place. Only males are allowed to go inside this holy mosque. The men must be dressed in full length trousers and must have washed their feet before entering the mosque.
