🏠 Working Together to Provide a Safe Home for a Vulnerable Family

The staff of the Community Advancement Organization (CAO) recently met with local authorities and community members to discuss and develop a plan to renovate and improve the home of a family who is facing difficulties living in a safe and secure environment, especially during the rainy season.

The family has four members, including two children and a woman, who are particularly vulnerable to risks caused by the unsafe condition of their current home.

Following the discussion, the local authorities, community members, the homeowner, and CAO agreed to work together as follows:

🧱 Local authorities will mobilize financial contributions from local residents to construct the house frame and walls.

🏠 Community Advancement Organization (CAO) will contribute to the construction and installation of the roof.

🤝 The homeowner and community members will contribute their labor to renovate and improve the house.

♻️ Materials from the old house will be reused as much as possible to reduce costs and make the best use of available resources.

💰 Fundraising Target: US$2,000

While the local authorities, community, homeowner, and CAO are contributing resources and labor, additional financial support is needed to complete the renovation of this home. The total planned budget is US$2,000.

🌱 Promoting Safe Vegetables and Environmental Care 🌍

The Community Advancement Organization (CAO) recently organized a community training on safe vegetable growing and environmental care.

The training aimed to increase community members’ knowledge and awareness about growing safe and healthy vegetables while encouraging them to protect and care for the environment.

A total of 15 community members participated, including 12 women. We are pleased to see the strong participation of women and community members who are committed to improving their families’ health, livelihoods, and local environment.

Together, we can build healthier communities and a cleaner, greener future. 🌿💚

On 18 August 2026, the Community Advancement Organization (CAO), in collaboration with local authorities and community members, joined efforts to repair and improve the home of a vulnerable family who was struggling to secure safe and adequate housing.

The family’s old house had become severely deteriorated and was no longer safe for living. Due to limited financial resources, the family sought support from CAO, local authorities, and the community to help improve their living conditions and create a safer home.

This collective effort is not only about repairing a house—it is about providing hope, dignity, safety, and a better living environment for a family facing hardship. ❤️

🌱 Mekong Plus Project Visit and Follow-up with Community Beneficiaries 🤝

From August 5 to 7, 2026, Mr. Bernard, Director of Mekong Plus in Vietnam, visited the projects implemented by the Community Advancement Organization (CAO) in Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia.

During his three-day visit, Mr. Bernard met directly with project beneficiaries and observed the progress and impact of several key CAO programs, including:

🌾 Agriculture Project – supporting vulnerable families to develop sustainable livelihoods and increase their household income.

🐄 Livestock Project – providing families with opportunities, knowledge, and support to raise livestock and improve their living conditions.

📚 Education Project – supporting community kindergartens, providing bicycles to students from poor families, and offering scholarships to disadvantaged students so they can continue their education.

👓 Eye Health Project – providing eye screening and support to improve the eye health of children and students in rural communities.

🌳 Tree Planting Project – promoting environmental protection, restoring green spaces, and raising community awareness about the importance of trees and natural resources.

🔥 Biogas Project – helping families access clean and sustainable energy while reducing household energy costs and protecting the environment.

This visit was a valuable opportunity to learn more about the real impact of CAO’s projects on the lives of rural families and children, particularly in the areas of livelihoods, education, health, and environmental protection.
