Apple has officially named a successor to CEO Tim Cook.

Cook will step down and transition into the role of Executive Chairman.
John Ternus, Apple’s Head of Hardware Engineering, will take over as CEO starting September 1, 2026.

In a statement, Cook shared that leading Apple has been “the greatest privilege” of his life and expressed his deep love for the company.
