📍 Coconut Beach is a long stretch of soft, pale sand and clear water to the horizon. The seabed slopes gently and stays shallow for a long way, so swimming is safe at any time of day, and the calm waves are perfect for a first try on a SUP board.
📍 After dark, the water can glow blue-turquoise with every movement of your hand. This is bioluminescent plankton, tiny sea organisms that light up when the water is disturbed, best seen on moonless nights away from any artificial light.
📍 The bay faces east, so in the morning the sun rises straight out of the ocean. It is the finest time for a quiet walk along the shore or morning yoga on the sand.

Koh Rong has been ranked 9th in the world in The World’s 50 Best Beaches 2026.
It is known for its long, uninterrupted stretch of powdery white sand and clear, shallow water. This is the first Cambodian beach ever to be included on the list.
The ranking is created by more than a thousand people from the travel industry, and beaches are assessed, among other things, for calm water, lack of crowds and untouched nature.
