Big day for us at Neem Tree. We have gone Solar! Yippee. We are no longer at the mercy of KPLC!

A big day for us as we lay out and square off the design plan for the new cottage at Neem Tree. This is to be our home in the future but we will ensure it does not interfere with the privacy or enjoyment of our guests. In the meantime, we will shut down any building works when we get bookings and it will all be tidy and fenced off. The contractor is my ex long term driver, Fundi and all round wonderful man, Boniface.

First time I have seen Kudu at Vipingo Ridge. Joining the oryx, giraffe, zebra, eland and impala amongst other plains game.

Took a 1.5 hour trip from Neem Tree to the beautiful Arubuko Sokoke forest and camped for a night on the platforms at the view point. Saw the endemic Golden Rumped Elephant shrew on our night game drive, though be warned - tricky to turn around on those narrow forest roads. Sadly did not see any elephants because the rain means they don't visit the swamp much but there was much evidence of their presence!
