145,500 SHUTTER CLICKs WAS HER LIFE.
Sometime in 2012, I invested in this awesome camera that transformed my photography.
The D300s was the best in the crop sensor Nikon DSLR's. 12.3mp.
She had easy to reach manual switches for metering, focusing modes controls that are rare to find with recent Nikon models. It's twin memory card slots gave me peace of mind with images saving on both cards. She also had a flash sync port useful with oldskool studio strobes as triggers weren't that much popular back then. Its lcd protective cover protected the delicate screen from event name tags hanging on my neck while shooting events. Armed with two reliable EN-EL3e batteries, I had more than enough power to cover a wedding. She was useful for studio, events, sports, product and photography training.
Most of all: she's one of the cameras that captures colours so well in my experience. True skin tones for portraits and awesome natural green on outdoor shoots.
As I upgraded to full frame, she remained my backup body. While on a product photography assignment in April 2018, she began producing soo many blank shots, and I knew her time was up.
145,500 clicks was the shutter count. She remains as my collectors item. This was one awesome camera from Nikon!
