CRVWWDA is a water works development Agency in Kenya. It was established through Kenya Gazette Notice No. 4 dated 7thFebruary 2020.
Mandated to provide dependable water and sanitation infrastructure in Nakuru, Baringo, Laikipia, Nyandarua and Narok. The Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (CRVWWDA) is one of the nine (9) Water Works Development Agencies in Kenya and was formed under Section 65 of the Water Act, 2016. The Agency, led by Hon. Mathenge Ndiritu, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and CPA Douglas Murei, Chief Executive Officer, appeared before the Public Investment Committee on Commercial Affairs and Energy to present and respond to matters arising from the Agency’s audit reports.
The engagement provided an opportunity for the Agency’s leadership to highlight key achievements, ongoing projects, financial performance, governance measures, and accountability mechanisms implemented in the delivery of water and sanitation infrastructure.
The Agency reaffirmed its commitment to prudent utilization of public resources, transparency, good governance, and compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements as we continue to provide dependable water and sanitation infrastructure.
For years, learners at Mahua Primary School and the surrounding community have faced the daily challenge of accessing water, relying on rainwater harvesting and costly water purchases during dry seasons. This struggle has affected learning, sanitation, and everyday life.
Today, there is hope for a better future.
The Mahua Primary School Borehole Project,in Nyandarua County , Implemented by the Agency, will provide a reliable and sustainable source of clean water through the drilling and equipping of a 230-metre borehole, installation of a storage tank, and construction of water collection points for both the school and the community.
This is more than a water project—it is an investment in education, health, dignity, and opportunity. It means children can focus on learning, families can access safe water closer to home, and the community can look forward to a healthier and more prosperous future.

Fostering Innovation and Technology for Enhanced Water Service Delivery
The Agency today, led by Mr. Joseph Salee – General Manager Infrastructure, Research, Planning and Design, representing the CEO, hosted a technical engagement meeting with a delegation from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST) led by Prof. Min Liu, aimed at fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and technology transfer in the water sector.
The discussions focused on innovative and sustainable approaches to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen water resource management, particularly in Non-Revenue Water (NRW) management, smart water systems, and advanced water, groundwater, and wastewater treatment technologies.
The engagement also provided an opportunity to discuss challenges facing the Agency and explore innovation-driven solutions and strategic partnerships for sustainable water resource management and improved service delivery.

The Agency today, led by Hon. Mathenge Ndiritu – Chairman, Board of Directors, officially concluded the 5-day induction programme for the newly appointed staff, accompanied by CPA Douglas Murei – CEO. The programme facilitated by Kenya School of Government -Baringo Campus , was designed to equip the new officers with essential knowledge, skills, and institutional understanding to support effective service delivery and enhance their contribution to the Agency’s operations.
During the closing ceremony, the Chairman congratulated the newly appointed staff on their successful recruitment and urged them to uphold professionalism, integrity, accountability, and teamwork in the discharge of their duties. He emphasized the important role every staff member plays in advancing the Agency’s mandate of developing sustainable water and sanitation infrastructure for the benefit of communities within the region.
CPA Douglas Murei, the CEO, commended the participants for their active engagement throughout the induction programme and encouraged them to embrace innovation, commitment, and excellence as they begin their journey within the Agency. He noted that the induction programme serves as a strong foundation for nurturing a productive workforce capable of delivering impactful and people-centered services.
The programme covered key areas including public service values and ethics, governance, leadership, records management, communication, institutional policies, and operational procedures, aimed at preparing the staff for efficient and effective performance in their respective roles.Kenya School of Government, Baringo Campus
