A major Amazon Web Services (AWS) failure yesterday disrupted apps like Snapchat, Fortnite, Zoom, and Venmo for hours.
The issue came from a network glitch in AWS’s US-EAST-1 region, one of its most critical data hubs.

Millions of users couldn’t access services, process payments, or use smart devices.
Amazon has since restored systems, blaming a DNS/network load-balancer fault, but the outage exposed just how fragile the internet’s “cloud” backbone can be.
