For Rangers
ForRangers is a campaign that supports wildlife rangers in Africa by taking on the most challenging endurance events on the planet.
‘For Rangers’ are a dedicated group of individuals who are raising money for the welfare of rangers who risk their lives daily to protect Africa’s endangered species. Max set off into the Chyulu Hills - four days on foot for a cause that means a lot to him.
After spending time living and working with the Rangers, he saw firsthand the conditions they operate in and the reality of life on the front line. He’s now raising funds to help upgrade their 25-year-old outposts - improving ranger welfare and strengthening their ability to protect Kenya’s wildlife. All donations are matched.
If you can, please support his walk. And if not, send him a message - it’ll mean a lot over the next few days.

Mobility training
Long hours. Rough tracks. No room for breakdowns.
Keeping vehicles sharp means rangers can reach wildlife faster, respond to threats quicker, and cover more ground each day.
It’s not just about driving - it’s about staying ready for whatever the bush demands.

50% of rangers don’t have access to proper boots. That has to change.
Rangers walk kilometres every day through harsh terrain, protecting wildlife and wild spaces, yet something as basic as decent footwear is still out of reach for far too many.
Through GRAA’s RangerGear, and in partnership with are, we’re changing that. Together, we’re getting high-quality, field-tested boots onto rangers’ feet across Africa because proper boots should be non-negotiable.
So far, this partnership has helped place nearly 8,000 pairs of boots with rangers on the front line. But with many more still in need, the work is far from done.
This is what’s possible when organisations come together with a shared purpose. We’re deeply grateful to Jim Green Footwear for standing with rangers.

Repost
- Life as a Rhino Monitor on Borana.
My days are spent on foot and on patrol, tracking black and white rhinos across the conservancy, checking water points, working closely with our rangers and recording every detail that helps keep their habitat safe. When a rhino is injured or moves into a risky area, I help coordinate the response on the ground.
Being part of was something else entirely. For four years, a film crew followed the team, capturing everything from tense encounters to quiet, intimate moments - giving a rare glimpse into the reality of rhino conservation and the people behind it.
One moment I’ll never forget was witnessing the birth of a calf at dawn. A female named Rensuen slipped away from the herd to a quiet clearing. As the light changed and the plains came alive, she laboured for hours before a small, mud-covered calf finally stood and began to nurse - steady, determined, and already strong.

Every step a ranger takes protects an entire ecosystem. 🌍
The facts:
• Rangers patrol vast landscapes on foot, often walking 20–30 km a day
• Many work in extreme heat, rough terrain and high-risk conditions
• Well-fitted training apparel and proper footwear reduce injury, fatigue and long-term health issues
• Healthy, well-equipped rangers are more effective at protecting wildlife, habitats and local communities
Across Kenya, rangers are receiving new training apparel and trainers - practical support that helps keep them fit, safe and ready for the daily reality of their work.
When you donate to For Rangers, you’re directly investing in the people who stand on the front line of conservation - the ones who protect wildlife today so ecosystems can survive tomorrow.
Support the rangers who protect nature, every single day. 💚
